I played and solved that puzzle today, too, and easily so. I never heard of that word or phrase either. It was the last clue I solved and I filled it in only by solving all of the other clues.

This is different: I just got an automated call from my supermarket chain telling me that the ice cream flavor I bought tuesday has been recalled.

Spectrum just dropped all Disney channels, including ESPN and ABC. People are calling their customer service number to complain, but I have an internet problem, and have been on hold forever.

The reports I've read says that Disney pulled the plug, not Spectrum.

Yeah, basically it's a dispute over rates and right now the two sides aren't agreeing. ESPN is the most expensive 'basic' cable channel so there's a limit as to how high carriers want to go and ESPN probably figures that withholding programming on the eve of football season gives them the best bargaining power.

What you should ask your provider if and when you get through to them is now that the ESPN/Disney family of channels is unavailable, how much is my bill going down this month?

I don't use Spectrum for TV, just VOIP for my encrypted business phone.
So this bill won't change.
BUT, the tech rep (when I finally got through) told me that the resources to locate and resolve problems on a residential account are more limited than a business account. So, I'll be contacting the proper department next week (of course they're closed today)to investigate what an upgrade to a business line would cost.

And that was my point about bringing up the bill to Spectrum.
Cable carriers are quick to point out that higher fees raise rates. So now when the most expensive channel(s) of all are taken out of the package shouldn't the bill go down?

Theoretically it should, but Spectrum is unlikely to see it that way.

Neither did Frontier when they dropped SNY and YES (and other stations).
My monthly bill remained unchanged. When I mentioned that to the C/S agent, he actually said "Well, you can find another service".
Of course, the other service in my area is Spectrum. So therefore, I', fu**ed

When I lost SNY and YES two years ago I called Frontier C/S. The guy said "you live in Connecticut. You still have NESN ( New England Sports Network)".
I calmly explained that I don't root for any of the teams carried on that network before I told him to f**k off.
