Not only this, but if Trump installs Pence as an 11th hour President so that Trump could receive a pardon from Pence without having to self-pardon himself, the Biden administration should eventually challenge that pardon as a sham pardon.

Remember that they teargassed peaceful protesters in DC this summer. But white supremacist terrorists were allowed to roam the Capitol freely.

The National Guard wasn't called out in force because DC can't ask for it directly. DC statehood just got a huge boost.

I'm more about January 6. He should be removed by both Congress and the Cabinet today, and charged before the sun sets.

Don't a majority of the Cabinet members have to approve of the use of the 25th? Or is it an either/or situation?

That's why it's extremely unlikely. But a majority of the Cabinet is fewer people than two thirds of the Senate.

Right now, it's open question as to whether the coalition of Congressmembers that were to lodge protests will follow through.

Of course, it's an open question when Congress will even be able to convene again.

I think the next "contested" state, alphabetically, is Georgia. It would take a hell of an amount of nerve (which doesn't mean it won't happen) for the electoral votes from Georgia to be challenged.

They can do this over Zoom. They can do this in an undisclosed location. I'm sure there's a facility somewhere in or near Washington where the Congress can meet in a time of emergency.

Congresswoman Omar's office has announced that she is writing up articles of impeachment.

Here's to the Cabinet saving her the trouble.

I dont think that a 25th amendment removal would prevent the president from running again in 2024, which I think, is most of the point of removing Trump now, with just two weeks remaining in his term.
And even with a successful 25th amendment removal which took effect immediately he'd still be able to cause mayhem from the sidelines, maybe even more so.
