I don't see how he could have gotten himself out at all. Luckily he wasn't on fire like Grosjean was a couple years ago.

But yeah, Zhou was out there in qualifying today, he just didn't perform very well.

French Grand Prix this weekend. The last couple races have been pretty exciting, but the French typically isn't. I'm hoping that the fact that these new cars can follow more closely might create more overtaking opportunities and spice things up a bit more than years past.

Summer break!

9 race weekends left, starting with the Belgian Grand Prix. Another classic circuit I really enjoy, it's almost like F1's super speedway. If you guys are interested I could set up a F1 fantasy league for the second half of the season.

You guys lost interest in this pretty quickly last year, lol.

However, the new season begins this weekend. Red Bull look like heavy favorites in pre-season testing, but I'm hoping for a 3-team battle with Ferrari and Merc in the mix too. New seats for a few guys as well as a couple of rookies this year. And a good old American driver behind the wheel at Williams.

Any interest in a F1 fantasy league, let me know and I'll set something up.

Gone are the days when a guy's hood could fly off in wreck and decapitate fans, and he could continue racing with no hood and maybe win
This made me LOL

I'm totally down with this, and would have no idea how it would work. Just give me a bunch of crazy haircuts with fireproof jumpsuits and I'm all in.

OK, I went ahead and set up a league real quick. You can join the league using the link or the code -- https://fantasy.formula1.com/en/leagues ... 8HPJUNGH09

code -- C8HPJUNGH09

Pretty sure it will ask you to make a team upon joining. You'll probably have to create an account or whatever but don't pay for anything, this is all free. Lineups don't lock in until the start of qualifying so you can just get something temporary going and then overthink every possible lineup change until Saturday morning like I always do.

Let me know if something doesn't work.

All part of F1's aggressive move into the US market, I suppose.

I don't see your team in the league though, it's just me at the moment.

I'm in. I wasn't able to select Tsunoda, but I'm just writing that off as one more disappointment in my life. (OE: I backed up and gobbled him up.) As of now, it's me and Methead and we're tied for first with 0 points. I'll remember these heady days.

The scoring system is a little different this year, but the prevailing opinion seems to be that it favors constructors pretty heavily. I'm not sure how I'm gonna set my team up exactly yet though.

Come on! Join! Make a team! Me just getting stomped by Methead is going to be such a fait accompli going in that'll it'll actually be too similar to F1 racing!

I've been in a league with my brother and a few cousins for a few years, and sometimes we'll decide not to use the top teams in our fantasy lineups. It helps keep everyone from having the same lineup, and keeps it interesting. I don't think my family league has decided to do that, but we could try it here. Especially with just a few people involved.

Piss Missile is holding third place on lap 14 for me in Bahrain. We're COMING FOR YOU, METHEAD!

I expect Alonso to be pretty reliable this year. He was in a car last year that broke down all the time, and he had horrible luck on top of that. This year can't be worse.

Gonna be busy most of the day but I hope to watch this race later this afternoon. I love DVR tech, but I miss discussing sporting events in real time.

Alonso hangs in for the third place slot, scoring points for me via his driving and via his Aston Martin machine.

I'm only sitting behind Methead because of LeClerc's DNF. Get back on the road, jerk!

Yeah, DNFs really suck. Especially when you have - ahem - 3 of them in one day.

Also - I'm not sure what McLaren did to fuck up that car so badly. A few years ago they were in the mix for podiums and now... uh no.

Dead batteries. How embarrassing, Ferrari.
