And here I was thinking that "insightful tweet" was a contradiction in terms.

Let's do that. First, one more important lesson. And that's to do with the ...

FIMG

...button in the menu above.

If you want tosharepost a photo, unless you've uploaded it yourself, you've got no control over how big the original is. When you grab the URL of that pic, it could be 3000 pixels wide, or 30 pixels wide. But you CAN control how big it APPEARS here at The Crane Pool. That's by clicking the FIMG button and getting these two tags:

And then you place your URL in the between the tags like thus:
And here's the key ... after FIMG in the first tag, let the site know how many pixels wide to display the image, working with the notion that 100 pixels more or less equals an inch.

And so on.

An image can be displayed at virtually any size, but you typically want to display it no bigger the size of the original, as it will get a little distorted if you do that. And big images are obnoxious anyhow, so you want to use sizes 700 or lower usually, depending on the length:width ratio of the image.

Also, try and share images that have been saved with the .jpg, .jpeg, or .png extension. GIFs get distorted if you share them at any size other than the original. If you absolutely HAVE to share a GIF (an animated one perhaps), just use the IMG button (the one that looks like a landscape painting, nine buttons from the left), and it will appear defaulted to its original size. When posting images I always start with fimg=300
Even if that turns out to be not perfect it's usually pretty close and you can simply adjust up or down from there if necessary.

I've found a width max of 600 is usually my go-to number.

When you're importing a photo, does the sizing go inside or outside of the ?

But it's better not to think of it as "importing" an image. The image still lives in the same place. You're just referencing it, so it can be seen from here.

How do I resize the Bo Derek picture in the beautiful thread?
When I right click, will the copy image address work, or be wrong because I'm not getting it from the source, but from the CPF?

I know it's convenient but it would help if tweet wasn't the only thing making up a post

It’s only on my phone. If I weren’t so lazy I’d go in my office and use my laptop lol
