I had a little Honda Civic about three decades or so ago.
I used to get tires (or tyres) for that car for about $35/a piece, so $809 for a set of four sounds like a fortune to me even given the intervening time.
I now pay more than $35/per for my bike tires. Can't remember what I paid for the last auto tires I bought.

Tire Rack.com is a (I assume) new site which has been getting a lot of radio advertising lately.
The idea is that you look up and buy your tires on line and the site then hooks you up to a local dealer for that brand where you'd get them installed.
I guess the idea is that it's a lot cheaper this way but I've never checked it out.

Not that I keep track of such things, but I'm comfortable saying
the General Tire tires we currently have are probably the longest
lasting tires we've ever had. And we've been lazy rotating-wise.
