Why is he campaigning in Massachusetts?

It's not so much the Massachusetts vote he's aiming at, as the working man's (and woman's to a lesser extent) vote.

It's a national meeting of the International Association of Fire Fighters. President Trump has had some success making inroads on the historically strong Democratic advantage among union members, by convincing some card holders that their union leaders don't have their interests at heart, and he does.

Seeing Vance get rebuked (though it certainly wasn't unanimous) hopefully represents something like a halt in that progress, or even possibly a retaking of any lost territory.

I was reading about John Sebastian of The Lovin' Spoonful the other day. I considered TLS an early embodiment of the West Coast Laurel Canyon sound, and he was a native of southern Cal, but he was actually born in Greenwich Village and his godmother was Vivian Vance and godfather was Garth Williams.

I think the trick to having successful children is convincing Ethel Mertz to be their godmother.
