I didn't write anything about coming for guns.

I'm not sure what you mean by "prepper." Doomsday prepper?

I think that my doctor is a prepper. Doctor prepper.

The gun nuts I know seem to fantasize even harder about a home invasion. That's their dream scenario, to "protect their family" by killing a would-be intruder, instead of you know, locking their doors at night.

Any regulation of guns whatsoever= 'coming for my guns', to a certain sector of the populace. That's one of the reasons this is so hard.

Harris made a surprising admission that she was a gun owner and that if someone broke into her home she wouldn't be afraid to use it. Statistically, she'd be more likely to wound Doug than to kill an intruder, but it is what it is.
The answer to the question "Can people really be that stupid?" is always "Yes."

I imagine it wasn't so much an admission as an angle.

Turns out the FBI determined that the text message originated from outside our country, and it was not deemed to pose a credible threat to our school community. I guess this is the best case scenario

It doesn't seem that surprising. The threat of school shootings is a destabilizing force.

US enemies can now achieve the goals of terrorism without having to be the force for terror, because we've got that covered.

I'm sorry your son and his family have gotten this crappy deal.

Oh wow you’re right.

This happened a few years back at some schools around here; threats that turned out to be from out of the country.
It’s so sad what kids have to deal with. I can remember bomb scares when I was a kid but it always turned out to be someone wanting to get out of a test or something
