Why do you think that she's sanctimonious in the first place?

I've already given my two cents and have no more change. Can you break a Jackson?

Yes, I can.

I don't think the NFL will be fucking around with anti-vaxxers. They told teams this week that if a game was postponed due to a team having a COVID outbreak due to unvaxxed players, the team would forfeit and take a loss.

Now this:

Good!

I read that in the case of an NFL forfeit, both teams will lose their pay for the game, not just the team with the infected players.

I hope that's not accurate. It doesn't seem at all fair.

Trump support predicts a state’s vaccine refusal better than average income or education level.

Yeah, but it's the NFL.

I love it. It increases the peer pressure to get vaccinated.

Yeah, but it's the NFL.
That would actually encourage players on both teams to organize together against management rather than the desired effect of encouraging vaccination. So the NFL would be shooting themselves in the foot if this were true.

Willets Point wrote: Fri May 14, 2021 10:41 am The timing of this CDC announcement is bad. Remember that vaccines were only available to the general public 16+ on April 19. There's a 3-week gap between Pfizer shots and 4 weeks for Moderna. Then you're supposed to wait another 2 weeks to be fully vaccinated. So it's a 5-6 week process. Assuming someone was able to navigate the labyrinthine registration process, the earliest the average American will be fully vaccinated is May 31. And of course, most people didn't get started on Day #1. And kids 12-16 just started this week. And under-12s are not vaccinated at all. They really should've held off on this until mid-June at the earliest. But hey, I guess "bipartisanship" is important even if it means having a 6th wave this summer.

Kind of hate being right about this.

CDC to urge vaccinated people to resume wearing masks indoors in some circumstances as delta variant spreads
The recommendation would reverse guidance by the agency in May saying that vaccinated individuals did not have to wear masks indoors or out because of protection afforded by vaccines.

It's not at all surprising. I see very few people in public wearing masks anymore, and I suspect that those who are (including me) are vaccinated. It was painfully obvious that this "honor system" was going to be exploited and that the unvaxxed would take the opportunity to stop wearing the masks.

I still wear my mask going into stores. I'd say at Wallymart-World on Saturday about
1/3 were masked? At the supermarket the other day I heard a jackwad in line behind
me comment on my mask to his buddy loud enough that he wanted me to hear it. I
didn't turn around and ignored them but I knew who they were because I saw them
twice in the aisles. Those who know me well know it's not easy for me to ignore things.

Lol...

UK scientists believe it is 'almost certain' a coronavirus variant will emerge that beats current vaccines

https://news.google.com/articles/CAIiEE ... id=US%3Aen
London(CNN) An analysis by British academics, published by the UK Government's official scientific advisory group, says that they believe it is "almost certain" that a SARS-Cov-2 variant will emerge that "leads to current vaccine failure." SARS-CoV-2 is the virus that causes Covid-19.

The analysis has not been peer-reviewed, the early research is theoretical, and does not provide any proof that such a variant is in circulation now. Documents like it are released "as pre-print publications that have provided the government with rapid evidence during an emergency."

The paper is dated July 26, and was published by the British government on Friday.

That seems a little bit of fear mongering. It presents to solution within, which is continued vaccine development, perhaps tailored more towards reducing the virus' contagion level over just lessing it's effect on you. Left unchecked, sure, it'd be a problem, but there's currently no reason to suspect we're going to do that.

I worry about an even worse scenario. I worry about a mutation that not only evades immunity, whether acquired naturally or through vaccination, but one that also puts young and relative healthy people at as much risk of bad covid outcomes as older and health-compromised people.

I worry about this too, and I feel like that risk grows larger and larger every day.

It's harder and harder everyday to wrap my head around just how many
people are so brainwashed these past 5-6 years. Don't see that 'virus' going
away any time soon either.

This just in:

Breakthrough infection.

U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham tests positive for covid-19, even after being vaccinated against covid-19.

Me too and that’s why I’m so anxious for them to let us vaccinate our children. For Feck’s sake why are they waiting?
And school will start soon…

They're waiting because they have to be sure 1) it's effective, 2) the correct dosage as children are smaller than adults, and 3) there are no side effects. To do this, they have to test large numbers of people of various ages over a longer period under controlled conditions.

They probably had an effective vaccine within a few weeks of the genetic sequencing. They had to test it, though and get those tests monitored and approved by professionals at the FDA. If you wonder why they do it so slowly and methodically, Google 'thalidomide'.

the vaccine is not a _drug_ like thalidomide though.

But yes, they have to be safe and tests and currently the risk level to young children is not high enough to outweigh the risks of rushing it. It feels slow still, but I don't know the protocols and science behind it. Feel like maybe they started later than they should've for trials in young kids.

But what we need most is vaccine mandates, ESPECIALLY for teachers.

Oh I know about that!

I found an article in my moms dressing table about it when I was in high school, and it freak d me out since I was in the right age group

To this day I don’t know why she saved it
