NYC will be requiring proof of vaccination for gyms and indoor restaurants beginning in September. Restaurants don't like it but they like being shut down even less.

Unfortunately this means there are going to be a lot of minimum-wage people who'll have to enforce these rules in the face of the usual maskless, vaccine-less assholes.

San Fran General Offering ‘Supplemental' Shot to Anyone With J&J Vaccine

“I’m just really against someone sticking me over and over again,” said Larzine Wright of San Jose.

Last spring, she received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

“I didn’t anticipate getting a booster shot this early in the game,” Wright said.

But like some others, she has wondered whether getting J&J was the right choice – as many people are now questioning its effectiveness, particularly against the delta variant.

Zuckerberg General Hospital is now offering a "supplemental" Pfizer or Moderna shot to anyone who received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine and wants more peace of mind. Even though they say the Johnson shot remains a good choice.

I mean, theoretically, enough of them are vaccinated that it's not an issue. But somehow I don't think it's likely that's the case.

At least those guys on the non-motorized bikes a week ago and one state to the south were a lot more spread out than that pic above and (at least theoretically) in better physical condition ... although I was surprised by the number of, let's say 'Plus Size', guys & gals who were quite ably pedaling their way across Iowa.




On a side note, I liked hearing Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan a couple of days ago speaking to some group about the importance of vaccinations when he finally deviated from his polite script and uttered, "Just get the damn shot"!

I'm sure a lot of people are doing it anyway. If I had had the J&J, and I decide to get vaccinated at CVS or Walgreen's, are they going to know that I had the J&J? Obviously, I wouldn't show them my vaccination card.

of course not, because we have a garbage health care system, it's not like they could put in your health ID number and get ANY data on you.

J&J still pretty much protects you fully from serious sickness or death. I don't know if availability is still an issue worldwide (Seems like it!!!) but those doses would be much better off in other countries, rather than doubling up here.

It's a scumbag state where the minority GOP has entrenched itself into power with the most outrageous gerrymandering this country's ever seen. And they have crazy procedures to take the Dem governor out of the equation. Eventually, the majority of Americans will get sick and tired of being ruled by a party that represents barely 40% in the Senate and hasn't won more than one popular vote in the presidential election since 1988. Oh, and they picked six out of the nine SCOTUS justices.

'religious reasons' needs to go away. Don't like it? get out of society. Religious freedom doesn't mean the right to endanger your neighbor and for vaccines, all it really does is allow anyone to opt out. It's not like you gotta do a hail mary in front of a doc or something, you just gotta say "I object!"
