Bad food. It wasn't a question of bad service, or nor getting enough ketchup or napkins. Or that the large fries box was only half or three quartets of the way filled. Nothing like that. The food was awful. It was the worst tasting meal I ever had at McDonald's. The burger was dried out and not as hot as it ought to have been. The bun was a tinge stale. And the fries weren't warm either. It was all stale -- like yesterday's leftovers. Which is a bad thing if we're talking about McDonald's fast food, because even when their stuff is fresh, it needs to be eaten within about 15 minutes. And all of that didn't really register with me until I had practically finished my meal. I just didn't process what I was experiencing as quickly as I should have. If I had realized earlier, I think I would've returned whatever was left, lodged my complaint and asked for a whole new order. But by the time I had figured it out, I had eaten most of the meal. So I simply left, very disappointed, without saying a word. It was the most unpleasant, least satisfactory meal I ever had there. This happened a coupl'a months ago and because of that bad experience, I have no desire to go back to McDonald's -- at least for now anyways.
Maybe try a different one

We have three local McDonalds. One of them is located just off Route 80. Last time I stopped there was several years ago and it was staffed by a bunch of Amish kids who served you up with a rude stare.

Haven’t been back.

I'm with Frayed Knot, only eating fast food during long drives. The only recent exception happened this New Year's Eve. We were in Puerto Rico and the country was in blackout mode for a day. Burger King was the only place we found to eat at for lunch (our hotel had a generator and we could have eaten there and did that morning and evening but we weren't close at that point). Had been years since I had been there - it was...fair.

Three words you don't often hear uttered, "hold the bacon."
