Sure, but being vaccinated and boosted, the virus might run it's course between the time I started feeling scratchy on Monday and when it (hopefully) comes today. It doesn't really change anything for me but the guidelines are different if you tested positive versus just being exposed. At this point the tests are so delayed (And I'm sure they're delayed on the lab side too) they're probably pointless. Guess it's nice to know from a safety standpoint, probably practically zero risk of re-contracting it over the next few weeks.

In a newspaper interview he claims the vaccine is not just ineffective but that it's killing people.

Young gave an ultimatum that Spotify should remove Rogan's podcast or Young's music. And Spotify is now removing Young's music. Makes me glad I don't subscribe to Spotify.

that is a pretty absurd claim to make. professional athletes tend to be very easy to find, public people. anyone with internet access could probably create a list of all 'professional athletes' from team websites/baseball-reference/etc from a year ago and actually prove every last one of them is alive or dies from something else.

I like a lot of Neil Young's music. "Freedom" is one of my favorite albums. I've never listened to a minute of a Joe Rogan podcast, nor to I intend to. But I don't like the idea of Neil Young telling me I can't listen to it if I wanted to just because he believes it's awful. I'm fully capable of making that decision without Neil doing it for me.

People who lie about a public health crisis don't deserve a platform. Spotify, a private company, has every right to refuse to be a conduit for an ideologue whose deliberate misinformation is contributing to mass death but they have chosen to continue to do so. I applaud Neil Young for standing up to a corporate entity that enables the right wing death cult.

IQALUIT, Nunavut - Inuit in Nunavut who get a COVID-19 vaccine could end up with a brand new ride.
A new program means Inuit living in each of the territory’s 25 communities have a chance to win a snowmobile for getting their shots.
Nunavut Tunngavik Inc., the territory’s land claim body, is holding draws across Nunavut for vaccinated Inuit residents to win one of 25 machines.

Esther Powell, clinical manager for COVID-19 with NTI, said she had been thinking about ways to encourage more Nunavut residents to get vaccinated.
“I had to think realistically about what would be the most useful,” Powell told The Canadian Press from her office in Rankin Inlet. “Snowmobiles made sense.”

Powell said buying 25 snowmobiles in each of the territory’s fly-in communities wasn’t easy, but local Northern stores were all willing to set one aside for the draw.
“We live in the Arctic where it’s winter most of the year. We have snow most of the year. The snowmobiles are the main mode of transportation for Inuit in Nunavut,” Powell said.

In Nunavut’s fly-in communities, the machines are used for harvesting and travelling across long stretches of land and sea ice.
“People use them to travel to other communities. It’s how people hunt. We wanted to be able to provide that for them,” Powell said.

She said she saw vaccine lotteries being held across the country — such as the Alberta government’s $1-million cash prize — and wanted to do something similar in Nunavut.
“We wanted to put the money into something Inuit would use and appreciate considering where we live,” she said.

The organization has also handed out $25 grocery vouchers at vaccine clinics across the territory.
The machines are already in each of Nunavut’s communities, and Inuit over age five who are enrolled with NTI under the Nunavut Agreement are automatically entered for the draw.

Winners will have to show proof of at least two COVID-19 vaccine doses, Powell said.

The Nunavut government has said about 72 per cent of those ages five and up have had two doses of the vaccine.

There were 279 active cases of COVID-19 in Nunavut as of Thursday.

The snowmobile draws are to take place April 25.
