I'm glad people are getting shots. KB got her first Sunday with no side effects. Where we
live i wont be getting one any time soon unless Czar Cuomo goes to 55+ instead of 60.

A forum game outing in The'cuse would be awesome. Hell, we have fam in Liverpool so
wouldn't even have to spring for a hotel stay*.

It's be awesome to have a CPF night. This team historically under draws so even at 20-25% capacity it'd work I think.

I'll reach out to them and see if they're doing group tickets this year, although my gut tells me probably not.

they actually might jump on it. To them, you booking as a 'group' implies you're all 'together' and they can pod you together. Bigger groups means they don't have to isolate/pod 2 people.

Find out also how much it'd cost to rent out a luxury box for a game. That might be fun too.

And get to your local Krispy Kreme for a free donut.
Just show your COVID-19 vaccination card.
https://www.yahoo.com/news/free-krispy- ... 51435.html
Starting Monday, anyone who’s received a COVID-19 vaccine can get a free glazed doughnut at Krispy Kreme stores, the company said in a news release.

All you have to do is show your COVID-19 vaccination card at any U.S. Krispy Kreme location.

And eating enough Krispy Kreme makes you eligible for the vaccine! So that's a good reward system. There's one that's basically on my way back from the Meadowlands after I get my second shot. (I stopped at Bolero Snort brewery last time)

I checked, and the only one in Connecticut is at the Mohegan Sun Casino, so that "free" donut could end up costing a LOT.

Great. That'll be even more people downstate who are eligible for vaccines that aren't actually available. He might as well announce that beginning tomorrow, everyone who wants a vaccine is now eligible to get one. And a free house, too.

It's medical vaporware.

At least we're hardly talking about that scumbag ex-president anymore.

My daughters both got up at 3AM to schedule their first shots on the day 45 year-olds were eligible in Connecticut.

no it's not. They're rapidly increasing doses all over the place. Arguably it should be a free for all now. As fast as you can get as many people vaccinated has exponential gains in public health.

It's better to keep everything at 100% dosing than wait for it to drop to 90%. Gotta push towards as close to herd immunity as we can to buffer this thing, especially as something like 25% of US population isn't eligible for the vaccine, though thankfully most of them are kids and not great transmitters of the virus..for now anyway.. , plus the large % that just aren't going to get it.

And the faster we do it, the less variants there are, and the less of a hold the ones that currently exist can get.

There was a strong argument to be made that college kids and other 20-30 year olds should've been among the first, not the last, to get the vaccine.

I don't disagree with anything you wrote. I'm simply questioning the availability of vaccines for the 50 and over crowd right now. I'm sure supplies will increase in the future and/or demand will eventually decrease as more and more people get vaccinated. I'm just sayin': "Good luck getting a vaccine real soon."

i saw some positive results in terms of NY availability tweets today, but I can't really speak to it much, managed to sneak in with a little due diligence in NJ. It seems like we're on the cusp of sudden availability though, with the J&J being pushed out to all these pharmacies. Good to get the next group at least starting to consider/look for it.

There is apparant no attempt in NJ to verify comorbidities prior to immunization at the mega sites at least.

Show ID, your insurance card, not a requirement and that is about it.

The online registration page seems to work on the honor system.

I'm not one to get freaked out by Internet research, but the more I read about the Moderna vaccine, the creepier it gets.

My "local" Krispy Kreme is 76 miles away and across state borders, which runs contrary to the CDC travel guidelines, I think.

I went through the trouble of procuring a letter from my rheumatologist verifying my qualifications. The woman who processed my first Moderna shot gave it the most cursory of glances.

I didn't even specify which of the conditions on the list I met, I just clicked 'yes' and that was the last time it mattered. If you want the vaccine in NJ, just go get it. (I followed the Bergen County vaccine bot on Twitter and just clicked through every time it found appointments. A bunch of meadowland ones dropped and I was paying attention and boom)

Pre existing anything seems to be out the window.

The Pfizer vaccine is the one "in stock" at Rockaway for the time being.

Dose two in two weeks.
