I am working tomorrow, as my employer (based out of Sweden and not the U.S.) does not have it on the holiday calendar. Wife and kids are all off. I expect it to be quiet at work since many or most of our customers will also have the day off

I'm off ( I feel like I should add something here but that would seem daft )

Off? I’m reading this in bed!

Yes I’m off but it’s because it’s January

I'm working! We are co-hosts of an annual, large community commemoration of Dr. King's life and legacy.

Our office is open, but I no longer work Mondays, so I'm off.

No, we do not. I made a similar comment at work. I don't know who MLK's Swedish equivalent is.

I think the Martin Luther King of Sweden is Martin Luther.

I actually work for a company most folks have heard of, as they manufactured automobiles that were sold here in the US for many years, and are generally one of the two company names most associated with Swedish cars in the states.

Since you used the past tense, I guess it's a Saab story.

Saab had cool designs back in the day, the big wheels dated to their origin as an aircraft maker. But zsaabs also had a reputation as troublesome cars to repair. My old boss had one and would only trust one mechanic in the city to fix it

Volvos and Saabs were always expensive to maintain.

Puddy was the go-to guy in Manhattan. Wonder if your boss used him.

I hadn't realized that Saab was no longer putting out autos.
Didn't Ove* think -- not think, Know! -- that Saabs were superior to Volvos? (or was it the other way around?)

According to Car and Driver, although Saab and Volvo came from Sweden , neither were particularly good in the snow.
Saab continues to design and produce some of the best fighter aircraft in the world and Volvo never got into that business.
