i stopped playing a few months ago, when (humblebrag) i got my rate up to 99% - there was an early miss before i happened on my favorite start word.

i was also quordling and octordling at the same time, and my process felt rote, rather than intuitive. maybe i was burnt out, but i also just wasn't feeling too much of a challenge. i'm just that good.

Currently working with a 97.1223% success rate. My last miss was J U D G E.

Appreciate any mind exercise, but I'm not sure the public needs to know how quickly I got B E L I E.

Midnight Wordle is fun. You take the first guess or two thinking your head is clear and alert, and by guess three, you suddenly feel mentally impinged, and you start to panic, which is silly, because it isn't a timed game. You can walk away, go to bed, and tackle it in the morning. That would make good sense, but with the panic and the mental impingement and the playing of a stupid game at midnight in the first place, good sense has long since fled the scene.

I've played each day for the last 370 days. My longest streak is 227 games.

I solved in in two guesses 14 times, three guesses 75 times, four guesses 178 times, five guesses 71 times, and six guesses 26 times. I missed it six times, most recently with JUDGE. (As I recall, my last two guesses were FUDGE and PUDGE.) My success rate is 98.38 percent.

I think the trickiest ones recently were KOALA and PIXIE. Both took me the full six guesses.

I haven't played in months. At some point, my stats got wiped out and every time I played a new game, my stats would reset to zero as if I was playing for the first time. This bug never got fixed, nor could I figure out how to fix it myself. There were some suggested fixes but I tried them all and none of them worked. Eventually, without the stats, I lost interest in the game.

I use CHEWY, BRICK, FLUNG, DIVOT, SWAMP - which leaves me one guess per word and only Q, X, J and Z unguessed. Sometimes I use DETOX instead of DIVOT to get the X in there.

I think my first fail was KNOLL , and IIRC that word caused a stink...anyway , my most often used starting word is SALET , I want to stop playing though, it's rather annoying at times , yet it is often the first thing I do in the morning.

I always start with HORSE. It's a word that hasn't been used yet, and it has a nice set of letters. (Wordlebot says it's a good opening guess as well!) I'm not going to deviate from it because one day that will be the word and it will give me my first hole-in-one. After that, if it ever happens, I'll switch to something else.

The other day, my completed set of guesses read HORSE HAPPY HUMAN, which was the name of my high school band.

The only reason I kept playing was because I wanted my opening play to come up. POWER. Otherwise no fun in a game you win 98%

That's a good point. But I keep playing because it's a nice little diversion that just takes a few minutes. I like the way it gets my gears turning.

I play daily even though I have a 99% rate. I always start off with AROSE and then TULIP. I don't remember my last loser but I'm sure I was peeved at myself for missing it.

I have never seen or heard of Wordling/Wordle. I am just not in the loop when it comes to games on my phone or computer. The last game app I used was the originl version of Angry Birds. I was hooked for about 6 weeks, but when I had to get a new phone and subsequently lost my levels, I quickly lost interest in going through them again and quit playing. In les than a month I removed the app from my new phone and never played again.

Wordle is a word game you can find with the puzzles at The New York Times site. If you want to try it, it really doesn't take much more than one-three minutes out of your day.

"Worldling" isn't really a thing. Just a gerund I made up, though I'm sure others probably use it as well.

I've never played, only knew about it 'cause it was a big thing for people
for some time to report how they did daily - here, there and everywhere.

And then the reports stopped.

My Dad introduced me to Wordle in May, and its become a fun thing for he, my sister and me to do. We're a little competitive. What's fun is that they live in a different state, and it's become a way to make sure we all stay in touch with each other every day. We each text Dad our score, and then he announces the winner. I get his around 6:30 a.m. and then I peck away at it while I get ready for work, usually finishing it while in the drive-thru at Tim Hortons getting my coffee.

Now, one minor challenge is that Dad, as a retired senior, gets up early every day. And while the 6:30 a.m. text on a weekday is fun, getting woken up on Saturday morning.....

Took a little while to get the hang of it, so my percentage is only 92 percent and max streak is 37 -- which ended earlier this week. I mostly get it in four.

Mrs Lefty is addicted and plays daily. I don't do it at all.

She once got it in one- her 'start' word was actually the word. She was stunned (and screenshotted it for posterity)
