The Nets have traded Kyrie Irving and a 2027 second round pick to Dallas for one-time Nets fan favorite Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith and a 2027 second round pick and an unprotected 2029 first-round and 2029 second round pick.

This reminds me of the old joke that said the two best days of a boat owner's life are the day he buys it and the day he sells it. I feel that way about Kyrie.

Now, Cam Thomas can take over as the backcourt star we hope he can be.

If only Irving's erratic and selfish behavior was foreseeable.

The house cleaning continues.

The Phoenix Suns agreed to trade All-Star forward Kevin Durant to the Brooklyn Nets in a deal that includes five players and four first-round picks.

Sources told ESPN, The Athletic and Bleacher Report about the agreement Wednesday night. The deal came just two days after the Nets agreed to trade All-Star guard Kyrie Irving to the Dallas Mavericks.

The Nets are to send Durant and fellow forward T.J. Warren to the Suns in exchange for forwards Cam Johnson, Mikal Bridges, Jae Crowder, first-round draft picks in 2023, 2025, 2027 and 2027, respectively.

I'm going to have to learn a whole new roster.

The article I saw was incorrect. (Can't find the link any more. Maybe it's down for "repairs") I fixed it.
Don't know about the draft pick typo they made. Maybe a 2029.Teams aren't allowed to trade #1 picks in consecutive years.

Watching his teammates scratch and claw with zero megastars the last few games, I convinced myself, “When KD sees how good they can be once he’s healthy, he’ll want to stay.” Sort of like a few weeks ago I told myself, “Kyrie’s settled in for the rest of the season.” It’s my childlike naïveté that’s kept me going with the Nets all these years.

They ain't done yet. Jae Crowder , who they got in the Durant deal, was flipped to the Milwaukee Bucks for five second-round picks. (No details yet on which years)
I expect something else soon, as the guys they got are "tweeners". They need help in the front court, both scoring and rebounding.
And I hope Useless Joe Harris (his full name) and Ben Simmons (who couldn't score in a crack house) are part of any deal.

I'll expand on this later maybe when I have more time: but what a weird league the NBA is.

And I haven't changed my opinion of either of them one iota.
Going to be an interesting off season.
And one last thing for this season until the draft - Fuck Kyrie.

Is losing ten playoff games in a row a record or do they need to work on
that more next season? If anyone wants to throw a sneaker at me, I'll be
hiding over there behind the sofa.

Yes, I do. Yes, I will. And you can run but you can't hide.

Lillard is very good, but you can't run (or shoot) without the ball.
They need a classic style power forward to rebound and go toe to toe with the enforcers on other teams.
They've been bullied inside the paint for years.
And if they draft another 6'6" wing this year, I'm gonna' puke.

The Nets had three selections in the NBA drat last night.
They were near the bottom of the league last year in rebounding, so they drafted for size.
Well, they got tall guys, but without much bulk. At 6'10" and 220 pounds, the center looks like he could slip through a subway grating. Joel Embid (the Phily center) is going to toss him around like a rag doll.
The second pick, a 6'7" shooting guard is coming off foot surgery. He will race Ben Simmons to see who appears in a game first this year.
The second round pick, a 6'8" forward played for Kansas and led them to a National Championship a few years ago.
