John Abraham | Curley Johnson |
DE | P–RB–TE |
2000–2005 | 1961–1968 |
First-Team All-Pro (2001). Three-time Pro-Bowler (2001, 2002, 2004). NFL forced fumbles co-leader (2001). Averaged 8.9 sacks per game over six Jetly seasons. Tied Gastineau and Klecko's record with four sacks in a single game. Second all-time in forced fumbles by a Jet with 19. | Super Bowl III champion. Pro-Bowler (1965). Once nailed a 79-yard punt. Set a franchise record in 1965, with a 45.8-yard punting average, that wouldn’t be broken until 2012. His final punt for the Jets was the Jets' final play of Super Bowl III. |
The only (I presume) Dallas Texan/New York Titan/ New York Jet/New York Giant. Having come from a broken home and been raised by his grandmother, he reached out and brought his three nephews into his home when their family broke up. | As late as 1997 wrote to then-owner Leon Hess about asking about doing some scouting for the team: "Coach Ewbank once told me you never get football out of your blood. I know now what he meant. I miss being part of the Jets and would love to do my part to help get us back to our Super Bowl days." |

A punter/running back/tight end, as well as a Texan/Titan/Jet/Giant. That's a unique profile no matter how you cut it.
I'm throwing my vote to Curley.

I'm ignorant of Jet history but why is Curley in a red jersey?
Re: All-Time Greatest Jet: John Abraham vs Curley Johnson
I'm gathering that was the look he rocked as a Dallas Texan. They would later morph into the Kansas City Chiefs, who continue to wear the color today.
Curley would morph into a Titan and, together with the rest of his team, from a Titan to a Jet.
