A Movie Question - Not A Review

Post by MFS62 » Sat Mar 30, 2024 10:16 am

A comment in the film review forum made me think of this.
Why do you watch a particular movie?
Is it the subject/plot? The actors/actresses? The director? A review you've seen? Something else (e.g. - something to do on a rainy day)?
Inquiring minds want to know.

My wife and I go for either story or star, sometimes both. She likes Meryl Streep and Liam Neeson and we both like Tom Cruise.
We both will go based on the story.
We don't go based on reviews because sometimes we disagree widely with the reviewer or just want to see that movie.

When I as young of course it has to do with whatever was the Big Thing.
Disasters, disco, whatever.

We don’t go to many movies now but I guess when we do it probably has to do with some kind of historical story
