I'm at a 30+ year low of not knowing jack shit about the Jets and football
this season. Is that old broken down Packer still a Jet? Did he take any pre-
season snaps? Are Jets expected to be good? Not that expectations matter,
they'll fuck things up any way because they are the Jets.

My NFL fandom is fraudulent. I like the Jets but I kind of like them more when they're bad.

I'll be wearing my Titans of New York jacket, and my heart on my sleeve, hoping that they won't be bad.

Certainly curious to see what, if anything, Roger has left.

I predict Rogers will even make it to the second series of downs this year.
Not betting on much past that though.

One thing Aaron Rogers has done for the Jets this year is rid those season ticket holders of having to attend those pesky Sunday afternoon games early in the season when the weather is still relatively good.

NYJ Home Games:
#1 (week 3) -- Thursday night
#2 (4) -- Sunday 1PM
#3 (6) -- Monday night
#4 (9) -- Thursday night
#5 (11) -- Sunday night

The final three home games -- weeks #13, 16, 18 (Dec 1, Dec 22, and Jan 5) -- are scheduled for Sunday at 1PM
(at least for now but don't forget 'Flex' games if the team is even close to good by that point).

btw, two of the first three road games are at non-Sunday afternoon times also.
Week #1 - Monday night
Week #2 - Sunday 1:00
Week #5 - Sunday 9:30 AM

Enjoy!

I just seen that Phil and Boomer are no longer with CBS , I guess they wanted to get younger with JJ Watt and Matt Ryan

So, did Rogers survive the first series?
I'm about to tune in and find out.

Flipping back and forth between the Mets and Jets , I probably watched through most of the 3rd quarter, Jets offense was rarely on the field up to that point

Pretty bad

As a Jets fan I am embarrassed Aaron Rodgers is a Jet

They were outcoached.
The Sf coach is known for featuring the running game and the Jets had no answer for it.
And they featured the same basic, unimaginative offensive sets, no movement or misdirection.
They got their asses kicked on both sides of the ball.
Something has to change.

SF has been about the best team in the NFL for several years now. Nobody has an answer to their running game. And Jets Head Coach Robert Saleh was the Niners defensive coordinator for four seasons -- during which he went up against the Niner offense in every single practice. There might not be an opposing coach who is more familiar with the Niner offense than Saleh. The Niner running game is kinda like Koufax's curveball: You know it's coming but so what? You still ain't gonna touch it.

Here's an oddity: Last night's final score of 32-19 marked the first time in NFL history that a football game ended with that score.

Well at least the Niners weren't missing their best player ... oh wait!

btw, there's a bit of a kerfuffle with that topic concerning, as all issues with the NFL involve at one point or another, gambling.
The back up running back said post-game that, despite it not being announced until late Monday that McCaffrey was going to sit out of the game, he knew that he was going to be the starter as far back as on Friday. The HC is shading that angle saying in post-game that he merely told backup Jordan Mason to 'be ready' to go. ESPN also reported, but again just prior to game time, that McCaffrey pulled himself out of practice on Friday after a calf strain from pre-season "tightened up" on him.

The issue here is one of transparency. McCaffrey was expected to play leading up to the game until suddenly being switched to 'inactive' just 90 minutes prior to kickoff. This theoretically allowed insiders with knowledge that McCaffrey was unlikely to play some 72 hours to use that info in placing bets that at the fan at large didn't have. The SF trouncing made that whole point moot but the league doesn't like it when teams sit on information without making it public for just that reason. Fines and other punishment can result.
The back up running back is, of course, blaming the media for the question.

I know. I watched that interview live and caught Mason's fuck-up instantly. BTW, .Mccaffrey was out, but Mason is awesome. He usually comes in in the 4th quarter and absolutely gashes the opposition. He'd start for just about every other team in the NFL.

The only thing new about Mason's performance last night was that he did it for four quarters instead of just one.

Jets do what the Mets could not and win on a Sunday. They looked shaky for much of the second half, that I watched, but the D held up at the end.

Nice win over a terrible NE team last night. I watched only a bit of it - first we attended the Syracuse Mets game, then when I got home I watched the last 2 innings of the NY Mets win. I did see the Rodgers/Wilson TD and then I went to bed.

Yeah I saw about 90 seconds of the 4th quarter. I almost prefer it when the Jets are a joke

Should have been done in the office season

It was said Saleh started attending meetings in the QB room just recently to become familiar with the language. A head coach has to have some offense sensibilities at the outset

Rodgers is not responsible here

Jets will make post season
