TV 2025 -- This Could Happen. Or Something Like This.
So here's my idea for a new TV show I'm gonna pitch, probably to the FOX network. It's fiction and not based on any true events. Here's the premise and pretty much, the pilot episode.
It's about the President of the United States. A President of the United States. He's in his second term and so he's a lame duck President that can't be re-elected to another term. At least according to the US Constitution anyways. But that's where the fun begins because the lame duck President wants to remain in office after his lame duck four year term ends. The Supreme Court had previously invented this new and illogical Constitutional right out of whole cloth and lacking any credible legal basis that grants the President immunity from committing crimes while in office. So what the President does is to arrange a meeting between him and some of his most loyal and violent followers. Criminal thugs who would do practically anything for their President. Like Hitler's Brownshirts, who morphed into the SA, and eventually the SS. The comparison is not coincidental, as many of these loyal followers dress up in Nazi regalia from time to time. Anyways, at this meeting, the President orders his group of violent followers to go and meet with six Justices of the US Supreme Court and demand that the Justices issue a ruling allowing the President to remain in office after his current term ends. Otherwise, Trump's violent followers are going to torture and then kill these six Justices, and their spouses and their children. The President has promised to pardon his violent thug followers for whatever legal consequences might follow from their criminal and murderous actions. The thugs agree and promise to do what their President asked them to do.
The next day, the President announces that he's running for President for a third term. Official papers are drawn up and executed and properly filed, setting his third Presidential run in motion. Almost immediately, lawsuits are filed demanding that the President's unconstitutional run for a third term be permanently blocked.
And that's it. Anybody got any ideas for future episodes? Feel free to contribute.

Episode two could be the arresting of print and electronic media journalists who have held opinions contrary to his.
Episode three would focus on the burning of books and the closing of libraries.
Episode four would be about the destruction of businesses and homes owned by people who have voiced opposition to him.
Episode five would be the construction of prison camps to hold the people be believes have opposed him.
Episode six and beyond .... you know the rest.

I'm paranoid. But am I paranoid enough?

seems far-fetched. It says "can't be elected" not "can't run" You're at like the mid-season cliff hanger, ending with the RNC officially declaring him the nominee.
First few episodes is going to him badgering people/state authorities to put him on the primary ballot, while Democrats give foreboding quotes about how strong democracy is and how the process will prevail.

Far fetched? Far fetched like the classic TV show that's been in successful syndication for more than 50 years about the genie in the bottle? And the total jackass who becomes the master of the genie in the bottle but refuses to take advantage of all of the genie's awesome powers on, I dunno, principle?
I don't know what's more far fetched. That there really is a magic genie in a bottle. Or that the genie's master wouldn't be using the genie to have his wishes granted every 10 minutes.
