each player has an average salary thingy on their header that should help you out a little. Cut guys that most people are signing for $20 but costs you $55 or whatever. It's a delicate balance of holding expensive guys that are really good and you can't replace versus playing the market.

The auction happens live first, of all unsigned players, on 3/18 at 9 where we call get into the draft room with a beer and over pay for Mets cause they're all going to have awesome years this year.

You can big on guys all season long in blind auction after the draft too. So like, random reliever gets called up and starts doing awesome, you put him up for auction and best bid after 2 days gets him. So you'll want to reserve some money for breakout and stuff, you'll end up cutting your losses on some guys too, half price to cut them against capl.

you can look at the other teams for a rough guide. I've got 22 guys a $198. Lots of room. SMG, who won, is at 30 with $330. He's not going to be able to splurge on anybody.
Red Flyers near last have 22 guys at $287. That seems high.

I believe he just pays and claims either the Chickens or the Vermin, though Fman probably has a better idea of the click by click specifics.

Well it turns out I had a lot of dogshit on my roster. I kept most of my higher end guys and I have $154 to spend on filling 26 spots. I predict a lot of $2 flyers in my future.

the keep/drop decision is always the hardest on those high-priced guys who actually perform, when you also desperately need to shed payroll.

looks like you did some good pruning, though. me, i feel like i've been regretting some of my keep/drops since i made 'em.

I'm more concerned about the fact that I have just 3 pitchers currently on my roster. All the rest of them were too terrible to keep even at bargain basement pricing.

So, another question - is there any kind of 'setting lineups' in this league? Is that a daily or weekly event? Or does everyone on my roster contribute to the team stats every day?

lineups are daily and only the active guys contribute points. And you've got 40 spots(well, many of us have some minor league prospects) so there's plenty of swapping you can do based on matchups, etc. (I'm lazy and often don't)

You've got a limited amount of innings/games anyway though, so if you constantly swapped you'd blow it out. Pitching can be tight. Otto Classic points is a mix of counting stats (like strikeouts) and rate stats like ERA and HR9 so it's a tradeoff.

Hi Guys,

Reds fan here. If you are still looking for someone to claim Valley Vermin's team, I am interested. This is my first year in Ottoneu and I have yet to play in a classic 4x4 league. I would be a respectful, active owner. I see the password below, but thought I should ask before claiming the team. If you want to keep it all Mets, I understand that. You guys look to have a good team this year. Let me know either way,
