Why did Newsday have two slightly different covers?

My guess is that they reconsidered their original cover when a later edition came out.
FUNDING is proving to be more popular than SIGNING, and if I recall correctly, FUNDING was the earlier cover.

I love the $162 Million Smile" cover, which brought a smile to my face today. I also like how Verlander's upraised arms play into the Plan V cover.

I guess because I’m not a fan of verlander or Nimmo
