I think that white space is where a bar code would be on the printed edition.

Management(manager and pitching coach and maybe the analytics people). He was kept out of high leverage situations after that. IMO, that was a good decision.

I would discourage rooting for Mets to fail in order to convince the team they are bad.
An alternative — rooting for Mets to prosper in order to enjoy victories — has more satisfaction without the side effect of shooting oneself in the foot.
