West Coast Toast is a great headline.
Didn’t vote for it though

Three covers where the Mets have to share. Nope.

We currently have a tie between HOLLYWOOD SCRIPT and FLIP THE SCRIPT. It looks like there may still be a few people who haven't voted yet. Would anyone care to break this tie?

Did Pete wear his helmet over his eyes for all of 2024? I think I may know why he struggled.

Well, now we have a three-way tie, as TWO THUMBS DOWN! has caught up with FLIP THE SCRIPT and HOLLYWOOD SCRIPT.

Struck me as an AI-generated abomination too.
The wrong font on the Mets side of the jersey made me so mad that I set a car on fire. I am now on the run, but I don't think I'll get far.

The covers that I vote for are, almost by definition, failing to advance.
If Newsday wins again, I'm gonna throw stuff.

The Daily News will have the most surviving covers when the first round ends tomorrow. Whether they can parlay that into victory, of course, remains to be seen.
Look to the parent thread tomorrow for some statistics and the first look at our 2024 brackets.

I love this contest but wonder if introducing ranked-choice voting and randomizing the preliminary groupings would be better

I've suggested ranked choice voting before. I think it's difficult for BG to arrange that way.
I think two covers advancing from each round would draw out the contest too long. Maybe if there was a way to collect a few Wild Card entries from strong second place showings.

I think its already way too long and I've thought so for years. There. I've finally said it.

It's easy enough to ignore if you don't like it.
As for ranked choice voting and wild cards, the way I look at it, some covers land in something similar to a tough division. And yes, I don't care to add any levels of complexity to this; we'll leave it as it is.
I'm really surprised that this has made it to its tenth year. Back in 2015 when this started I don't think I would have guessed that we'd still have three tabloids churning out back pages every day.

The Guiding Light ran for decades but it didn't bother me because I ignored it.
