What is the context of crying Mr. Met? I don't remember what made them buffoons that week.

This is a lackluster bunch. I only really like Bartolo swinging the bat (I voted for that one and the old school Mr. Met and that's it)

It was a breakdown in the collective bargaining talks and it was looking like there might not be baseball for a long time.

This is a tough batch. No action shots (except Bartolo) and relentlessly bad news.
Even duct tape can't fix stupid. But it can sure muffle the sound.

Went with Blast, Change and Buffoons.

Someone start an Election Day 2022 thread I'll go with it there as well.

Three days in, much of the subject matter of these back pages, for better or worse…

Max Scherzer is a Met, paid a king’s ransom for being so
Buck Showalter is the Met manager
Gil Hodges is elected to the Hall of Fame
The DH is coming to the National League
Old Timers Day is returning
Matt Harvey is involved in a drug scandal
Spring Training is locked out

…feels like a novel with scattershot Met references weaved throughout. If I were reading such a book maybe three years ago, I’d think, “That wouldn’t happen in real life.”
Hope for the best. Expect the Mets.
