1) Nobody got this.
2) Somebody actually guessed "Who is Piano Man?"
3) I haven't put my head through the wall, but I'm still considering it.

Yeah, I mean, if you float any song lyrics from the last 10 years up there, I probably flounder around like a dead fish, but I mean, come. On.

Re: This Is JEOPARDY! 2023
One contestant connected the 'Hey' opening and guessed 'Hey Joe',
the second must have seen 'play a song' and went with 'Piano Man',
the third simply stayed silent.
I even streamed one or two to see if I'd recognize them at least. Nope.

In seeing reviews of Rhianna's SB show I saw a list of here 'mega hits' she played. I hadn't heard of any of them.Yeah, I mean, if you float any song lyrics from the last1020 years up there, I probably flounder around like a dead fish.

I suppose "flounder around like a dying fish" would have made more sense than what I said. Probably should have more coffee before those 6:22 AM posts.

The show's three contestants didn't ask the right questions for the five answers in the "In The Sport" category
For $200, all they had to do was guess our national pastime when seeing "inherited runners, appeal play, pickoff."
More silence.

IIRC, each of the contestants that night whiffed on all five questions in the 'Sports' category (maybe one of the five actually got answered) so it wasn't just their
lack of baseball knowledge. I'd stay just as silent whenever the topic turns to 'Harry Potter' (as it seems to do with increasing frequency these days).
Gotta say, not digging this Teen Tourney thing. I never really liked the kiddies korps in the first place (probably partly cuz I'm old and partly because answers are
more likely to involve Bieber) and now that this group is all re-treads makes it even less attractive. Waiting for the return of the regular show (and Jennings).

I don't particularly mind that Ken and Mayim share hosting duties , what I have really grown to dislike is the pause Mayim uses before she says "that's right" or "that's wrong "

Yeah, it's as if she's not sure if the given answer was correct and feels the need to double check her notes first.
I'm not one of those claiming that she ruins the whole game or anything. I just prefer Jennings.

There's probably been worse, but the big wager made on a DD with a big lead late in DJ was the worst strategic move I've seen in a very long time.
It wound up costing the player 10 K and, when she was the only one not to get FJ correct, ultimately the game.

I meant to watch Jeopardy Masters last night, and totally forgot
Anyway , in regular Jeopardy none of the recent winners has grabbed my attention

She also seems to giggle every time someone lands on the Daily Double. Not a huge deal but slightly annoying.

Well it was on Monday as well (tonight too). What you saw Tuesday was still Round 1 but it was the second threesome within R1

Essentially that means she's bailing on the tapings for the final week of the season which is the one coming up.
So it won't mean much except that Jennings will oddly reappear for the last handful of shows before summer hiatus.

Re: This Is JEOPARDY! 2023
Wow, I think the female contestant on tonight's show needs to throw the challenge flag over the wording of FJ
With Art History as the category, the answer read
AT THE 1865 PARIS ART SALON, THE ELDER OF THESE TWO MEN SAID, IF THE YOUNGER WERE SUCCESSFUL, IT WOULD BE "BECAUSE HIS NAME SOUNDS LIKE MINE"
The correct response was Monet and Manet but two of the hopefuls interpreted the wording (as did I) to suggest that just one name was correct; 'the elder of these two men'
Jennings however insisted that "these two men" required that both be named. One contestant named both, one named only Monet, the other only Manet in what certainly seems like an attempt to discern which was the elder.
At best i think the wording is ambiguous. At worst it's flat out misleading.
One of the two giving just a single name wound up winning due to leading after DJ and smart betting. But the other would have won had her answer been accepted. The one who named both was correct but finished second after a bad DD bet in the DJ round.

Man, that's some strained syntax. I see how we need both guys, but I had to read it three times.

I was watching with my son. I quickly said, "Who was Manet?" but he immediately corrected me and said, "They're looking for both names."
He's currently in the Jeopardy contestant pipeline. It's things like this that make me think he may have a chance.

Re: This Is JEOPARDY! 2023
My first reaction was the opposite, to say M & M but then re-read it and decide that they only wanted one.
The kicker to the whole thing whole thing was that the only guy who got it right by naming both (2 or 3 x returning champ) was in a bad position due to a large, and likely foolish, bet on a DD during DJ.
A recently minted MD, he bet 12K because it was a medical category. The clue was that a particular ML pitcher (they named him but I forget who) got a smiley face tattoo around the scar on his elbow surgery named for which other pitcher.
We all, of course, know it's Tommy John but you could see his expression crater as soon as he realized that the question, and the overly large wager that he put on it, wasn't a medical question at all but was rather a baseball question. Clearly not a fan, he managed to stammer likely the only name he could conjure up, Joe DiMaggio, just before time expired.

i think the phrasing was ambiguous and that the elder name was as acceptable an answer as both names.
My two cents.
