Hot Water Split 6

Post by batmagadanleadoff » Fri Mar 24, 2023 4:45 pm

"Not to put too fine a point on it, but the former president* of the United States is a dangerous fcking lunatic and he's decompensating quickly. Read this goddamn thing, it's the kind of stuff that makes people change subway cars.

It no longer matters whether or not he's playing a role or playing everyone for fools. He knows what his more dangerous devotees actually hear when he starts raving like this. It no longer matters whether or not he's doing all this out of abject terror of being hauled before the bar in two states and the District of Columbia. Even quaking on his golden throne, he can still bring the temple down on his own head. Especially since the entire Republican Party is lending him its support. And he knows it, too, because he won't shut his digital gob.

Not even the fundamental incoherence, the random capitalization, or the laughably bad spelling matter any more. An ungrammatical death threat is still a death threat. Not all dangerous lunatics can write like Ted Kaczynski.

If it wishes to save itself, the entire system must devote itself to the task of getting this guy out of public life forever. Every criminal prosecution should hit the afterburners. Every civil suit must proceed apace. The Democratic Party should dedicate itself, body and soul, to hanging this decrepit bag of poison around the neck of every Republican, local and national."

Joe Scarborough (MSNBC) said that tRump's (racist) use of "Soros backed animal" to describe the NY DA shows that he has gone "Full blown Nazi". Pure red meat to the animals who follow him.

Just when you think he can't get any lower - he does.

Couldn't get behind the Esquire paywall, but the trick Trump's been able to pull is to get every Republican behind him (even the ones currently or potentially running against him) and attacking the prosecutors. This is a magical thing when you force Ron DeSantis to defend you.

For any other politician in the world, an indictment would be death. But Trump is able to defy political gravity, at least within the Republican party. Democrats and independents, though, not so much.

The DNA sample that would be taken if charges are brought against tRump in the Stormy Daniels case cannot be used in the rape case against him. The judge in the rape case will not allow even the mention of DNA in that case.

What I'm kind of hoping is that District Attorney Alvin Bragg has taken the onus of "first prosecutor to indict a former president" off of everybody else, and now all the other investigations won't be operating with a cloud over their heads.

Agreed. My wife and I were just saying that now the other indictments might come in very quickly.

Wasn't there a tRump Legal problems thread? I couldn't find it.
Maybe this should be added to that thread.

Probably. Indicting him isn't political. It's legal.

Scumbag Florida Governor Ron DeSantis weighs in on the Trump indictment with a thinly veiled anti-semitic rant and announces that Florida will not cooperate with any extradition requests.
"The weaponization of the legal system to advance a political agenda turns the rule of law on its head," tweeted Governor Ron DeSantis.

He continued, "It is un-American. The Soros-backed Manhattan District Attorney has consistently bent the law to downgrade felonies and to excuse criminal misconduct. Yet, now he is stretching the law to target a political opponent. Florida will not assist in an extradition request given the questionable circumstances at issue with this Soros-backed Manhattan prosecutor and his political agenda."

George Soros is 92 years old and probably never even heard of Alvin Bragg before he was elected. That's a dog-whistle for the white anti-Semites.

If Florida refused to extradite Trump, there'd be a tsunami of scorn heaped on DeSantis. Trump will surrender voluntarily anyway because he wants the show for his MAGAdiots. His 'persecution' will make him a martryr in their eyes.

Some reports suggest that the lemmings have sent in $4,000,000 in just
some 24 hours in support for Señor Windbag. Astonishing and kinda scary?

Yes. But expected. He'll be asking them to drink Kool Aid once he thinks he's squeezed out all their money.

Just once I'd love for a hot mic to pick up what he really says...

"Yeah, the goddamn idiots sent me $4 mil yesterday. In one day!
They're my cash cow, you just need to know to milk them It's sad,
really... they think I'm gonna fork over $4 mil to attorneys. *hahaha*

I owe Rudy like $25 mil, I'll send him a bad check in prison."

"And I’ve said this, no one's above the law, but no one should be targeted by the law, especially through the political process."

    — Sen. Joe Manchin, D-WV

I disagree. People who the facts suggest have committed crimes should be targeted by the law.

Beyond that, I'm not sure how a person can be targeted by the law "through the political process."

How do these guys get away with saying such nonsense?

They have to say it vocally if they ever hope to win a future election. One third of their base is slavishly devoted to the shitbag

His plane bringing him to his indictment tomorrow landed at LaGuardia Airport.
I wonder who made that decision but I'm laughing. It puts him in his place.
The Presidential plane has a special parking gate at Newark airport, out by the police HQ.
This reminds him that he ISN'T the President.
I love it.
