Thanks Kase
You gotta define 'prime' because by some definitions, I think Gooden's "prime" was better than Seaver's.

Seems Joel was liked well enough? Decent player on some bad teams is the vibe I'm getting?

Youngblood was a terrific athlete who played baseball, more than he was a ballplayer. He could play all nine positions, but none of them with much polish. His arm in right was second only to Ellis Valentine's and comparable to Dave Parker's.

His bat wasn't good enough for the outfield, but his fielding was too full of boots for the infield. He was a solid reserve for a long time for a lot of teams, some of them good, but on Joe Torre's Mets he not only played every day, but he was one of their best players.

Go one-on-one with Joel! Among the other things that comes up in this interview was that he used the same glove no matter what position he played, which might explain a lot. He also confuses Bud Harrelson with Felix Millan, I think.

They were honoree coaches because two weeks later, they would both be inducted into baseball's Hall of Fame at Cooperstown.

Future classic NY Mets picture, with the bright colors of 2020s bandanas, the full majesty of the wraparound shades players wore to ward off glare, and the graphics of regional sports networks in potentially their dying days on full display.

(Also, that’s me over Lindor’s left shoulder, for all Guardians pregame watchers to see/barely notice.)

Profiles can deceive, but I'ma say Cleon Jones, Tom Seaver, and Jerry Grote.

That's probably Koosman's butt on the right, as he was on deck, and his second number looks like a 7.

L-R: Clendenon, Seaver and Kooz.

Yeah, that's Clendenon.

The third guy seems to have Koos' schnozz, but also seemed to have a 1 for his first digit.

It's Kooz because he looks exactly like Kooz. Also, Kooz was on deck when Weis homered, thus the batting helmet.
