Martin Amis, 73, British novelist. I felt like I had maybe read some of his work but I didn't recognize the titles. My college roommate took a course where he had read some of Amis' work so maybe that's what I'm thinking of.

I once flew through a flock of birds over a bridge when listening to I Feel Free. Very cool
But you probably had to be there

I never really got Cream. I like the doo-woppiness on "IFF," though.

RIP to one of my childhood heroes, and a darned entertaining Twitter follow, the Iron Sheik, age 81. He put the whole world in a camel clutch and then told us all we were jabronis and he was right.

George Winston, an amazing performer on piano, at 73. His Christmas album., "December," is one of my favorites.
https://variety.com/2023/music/news/geo ... 0CnBsBwIKA
I saw him perform once in Ann Arbor, never having seen a photo of him. The lights dimmed, the stage lights came on, and a guy walked over to the piano in jeans and a plain button-up shirt, with a beard and longish hair. He was carrying a case of some kind. He looked like a roadie, and the room was silent, waiting for the performer. He sat at the piano and said something like, "Hi, guys. It's me." and the applause started.

Even duct tape can't fix stupid. But it can sure muffle the sound.
