Christy Dignam was a a beloved person in Ireland. Aslan had some cracking songs that probably never made it outside Ireland, still, one of the best, saw them many years ago and the place was hopping

Cormac McCarthy, Pulitzer prize winning author of, among many other novels both critically acclaimed and very popular, All the Pretty Horses, The Road and No Country for Old Men, 89.

I enjoyed No Country For Old Men quite a bit. The Coen brothers, while trimming it up a bit for the cinema, seemed to me to be pretty true to the source material.

I appreciated The Road but I can't say I enjoyed it. Maybe the saddest book I ever read in my life. (I did not see the movie, knowing how dark the book was, I had no interest in it).

I recently attempted, and gave up, on his (supposed) magnum opus Blood Meridian. I found it disjointed and aimless.
