I'm very surprised to learn that Warren Spahn never struck out 200 batters in a season.

In the six slots in today's two-team matchups, not a single player comes to mind for any of them.

Most of these I wouldn't complete if you gave me six weeks.

8 today. Missed the Ranger Cub, and annoyed with myself for forgetting Ferguson Jenkins was a Ranger for a large part of his career.

Like a lot of people here, I depend on Ball Four and vaguely remembered '70s guys. My Brave/Brewer was also Jim Bouton, and I went with ex-Senator and Ball Four Pilot Don Mincher as my Ranger/Brewer.

Somehow dug up Carl Morton as my National Brave, probably because unrelated Charlie Morton recently beat the Mets.

Take that, deteriorating brain cells!!

It helps that four of the five teams in play have played in multiple cities, and one of them has played in two leagues.

An all Mets solution. Never did that before and never tried. Matz was the first answer I entered today. Bake McBride came to me immediately as the Card ROY. But while I was typing in Matz, I remembered Vince Coleman and it was then that I thought I'd try and see if an all Mets grid was possible, already knowing in the back of my head that Alonso and Torre and the other Mets/Blue Jays were also answers. The player that took me the longest was Keith Hernandez for 200 hit/All-Star, ironically, perhaps my all-time favorite Met. IG stud and one-time Met Tommy Davis was another 200 hit/All-Star, I remembered after completing today's puzzle.

I failed badly today. For the Tigers Gold Glove, I started with Chet Lemon and then tried Ron LeFlore. My third guess was correct, Lou Whitaker. Then, for the A's Cy Young, I started with Dave Stewart, who was wrong, before pivoting to Vida Blue who was correct. But I was quickly three guesses in the hole and ended with only five of nine.

Got 'em all today. Living in the Bay Area in the '70's helped.

Tigers/Dbacks: Luis Gonzalez 8%
Tigers Gold Glove: Al Kaline 9%
Tigers Cy Young: Denny McLain 13%
Cleveland/Dbacks: Jay Bell 3%
Cleveland Gold Glove: Omar Vizquel 24%
Cleveland Cy Young: Gaylord Perry 6%
A's/Dbacks: Bobby Crosby 0.4%
A;s Gold Glove: Dwayne Murphy 0.9%
A's Cy Young: Catfish Hunter 10%

Had 8 of 9 but could not come up with a Marlin/Angel combo. Apparently not the only one as that square had a 35% completion rate and all the others were over 70%.

LAD/MIA - Josh Beckett 7%
LAD/TEX - Eric Gagne 2%
LAD/3000H - Pujols 34%
LAA/MIA
LAA/TEX - Nolan Ryan 21%
LAA/3000H - Rod Carew 41%
BOS/MIA - Mike Lowell 18%
BOS/TEX - Jose Canseco 6%
BOS/3000H - Yaz 40%

I got burned by Ted Williams yet again; he didn't have 3,000 hits. I then went with Wade Boggs, who did qualify, but I was already out of the running for my Immaculate Grid.

I also guessed Williams wrong. Todd Zeile would have been good for at least 2 squares today
