pretty much. unscrambleit says radon was a slightly better guess (2.657 guesses left) than rayon (2.671), though both were in the top 10. I wanted to get the D in there, so i went for the deadly gas instead of the soft fabric
I had luckily used a D in my second guess and ruled it out so by the time I got to RA___ with a known N I only had the one choice left for par that I could think of.

I guess I did. I didn't even think of RAYON until it was the only possible word I could make. RADON was a guess that worked out nicely.

I lost the RADON/RAYON coin flip for a shot at three.
As has become my custom lately, I thought of the eventual correct answer first but changed to RADON which I judged more likely when I had an inkling that RAYON might be a brand name.

Regardless, in my current run of wordling, I’ve only got two busts in 239 games played. So at least there’s that.
