So, I slept in this morning. I'm looking now and see the entire field except myself have played. Nine of the twelve golfers have birdied, allowing three opponents to tie my first place score, putting the pressure on me.
Stepping up to the tee now ... .

And I choked!
T A S E R
T U L I P
T H I C K
T H I N K
Waiting until last, and seeing nothing but birdies, I should have concluded that it was a pretty common word, but I went exotic on my second guess and wasted a stroke.
Also, a first-letter T should have led me right toward a second-letter H.
I deserve to lose, but instead find myself in a four-way tie. Hole-by-hole playoff for the November championship, lads?

Damn, if you take away two rotten holes I had in a row I would have been ten strokes under par. Stupid words.

Well, didn’t pull a threepeat. After an 11 and a 10 under par my 6 under feels pathetic.
Grats to the winners. Looking forward to the December tourney.

So just to pre-establish the (suggested) rules for a multi-player playoff:
- if any one player wins a hole outright they are declared the November champion
- if two or more players tie for best score on a given hole the playoff continues but any player(s) who fails to match them is eliminated.
Agreed?
- if any one player wins a hole outright they are declared the November champion
- if two or more players tie for best score on a given hole the playoff continues but any player(s) who fails to match them is eliminated.
Agreed?

OK! I set up column V for Hole #19. Good luck, Monk, Seo, and Irish.

i recommend, if you aren't doing it already, playing in hard mode. or at least playing by hard mode rules.
basically, once you find a letter, you use it. it basically forces you to not waste guesses. its really only harder in that you have to work harder to find possible words. i think it actually greatly increases your chances of successfully completing the puzzle each day.

Totally agree about hard rules. Feels like cheating otherwise.

A hard par for Irish, Monk, and myself leaves a golden opportunity for ABN Seo to win the month with a birdie. The drama is on!
Mashmallow, meanwhile, demonstrates the grace of playing without pressure, showing everybody up with a bird after his miserable month in tournament play.

I saw Irish's par early and figured he'd be knocked out by someone. But then I played and, even though I got lucky with a Birdie, I knew Birds would be hard to come by today.
