Meanwhile, Illinois removes Trump from ballot under insurrection clause of US Constitution. Not that it matters. Trump ain't winning Illinois and the hack SCOTUS will fix it to favor the sociopath anyways.

Trump's Taking His Immunity Claims All the Way To The Carefully Cultivated Supreme Court Majority
I genuinely can't decide if the Court's decision to hear the case is more corrupt or more cowardly.
I genuinely can't decide if the Court's decision to hear the case is more corrupt or more cowardly.
https://www.esquire.com/news-politics/p ... ity-trial/The carefully cultivated Supreme Court majority justified its cultivation, and Mitch McConnell's lasting infestation of American self-government, late Wednesday. From the Washington Post:Yes, and Bush v. Gore was decided on the basis of arcane 14th amendment considerations.Trump’s pretrial proceedings in D.C. will remain on hold until a ruling is issued, putting the Supreme Court in the politically fraught position of influencing the timing of a federal election-obstruction trial for the leading Republican presidential candidate. The brief unsigned order issued Wednesday said the justices were not “expressing a view on the merits” of the case and would consider only the question of whether and to what extent a former president has "immunity from criminal prosecution for conduct alleged to involve official acts during his tenure in office.
This is awful. These SOBs just cheated the American people out of an opportunity to know all the facts in electing the next president. They just cleared the runway for El Caudillo del Mar-a-Lago to run out the clock. Hell, they're not even going to hear oral arguments until April 22. They likely will then spend a couple of months "considering" a legal argument that should've been laughed out onto the sidewalk in the first 10 minutes. I genuinely can't decide if this decision is more corrupt or more cowardly. It could be a consequence of the carefully cultivated conservative majority's careful cultivation. Or it could be the Court getting weak in the knees in the face of a challenge to the entire constitutional structure. I'd almost prefer that it were the former. It's simpler and more easily understood.
And that justifies an expansion of the executive's power to simply ignore criminal law throughout a president's term? This is something that would have made the Founders gag; after all, several of them had just fought a revolution against unaccountable executive power. And the recent history of the presidency, especially misbegotten Republican presidencies, has made clear how destructive — and how final — the success of this heresy would be.Trump asked the Supreme Court to put the appeals court ruling on pause and give him time to seek rehearing by a full complement of D.C. Circuit judges. His lawyers argued that he should not be sidelined from the campaign trail by a months-long criminal trial, and said voters have the right to hear from Trump on the stump.
Well, that's one way to put it. I'd prefer "Soulless Or Gutless," but I am not a Justice of the United States Supreme Court, carefully cultivated so as to bloom on days like this.At least four of the nine justices must agree to take up any case. Legal experts have said there was good reason to think at least four would do so for Trump’s immunity appeal; he is the first former president to be charged with a crime, and the justices may want to have the last word on such a significant issue as whether he is shielded from prosecution.

I guess your response to my post has been rendered meaningless, or unintelligible by the red-light bully, who once, again, red-lit and disappeared another one of my posts, for reasons that I have no idea what they are. And the reasons that I suspect were used to justify this latest red-lighting make no sense, either. Perhaps he can explain. And explain on the public forum so everyone can see. And scrutinize. And then others can weigh in if they think the red-lighting is ridiculous, or non-sensical, or thoroughly inconsistent with the way other people's posts are treated. Instead of this secret PM stuff that nobody else gets to see. This is a forum matter.

I'd like a rational explanation for all of this, as opposed to a red-lighting with a vague, ambiguous warning that the post was inappropriate.
And then you can rename the Red-Light Forum in my honor. The BatMags Cave or something.

And all through this, he is showing signs of rapid cognitive decline (not sure if this is the proper thread).
https://www.salon.com/2024/03/01/like-s ... -dementia/

The rest is equally scary. This weekend, Trump showed more evidence of his accelerating dementia. Trump named the wrong month for the primary, said that Putin would rather see Biden as president and he agreed with him, and that he made Israel the capital of Israel. But most important are the fundamental breakdowns in his ability to use language. Once you become aware of a symptom, you start to notice it, whereas before you might have overlooked it..
Trump manifested a number of phonemic paraphasias. He was trying to say evangelist, for example, but haltingly said "evangelish.” He was trying to say “three years later," but said, “three years, lady, lady, lady.” Trying to spit out the word “lately,” he sounded like a car with a bad battery struggling to turn over. When Trump can't find a word his whole demeanor changes. It’s almost like someone pulled the metaphorical plug. Trump looks blank, stops in mid-sentence (or mid-word), his jaw goes a little slack, and when he starts to talk again, he slurs, speaks haltingly, and often looks confused. Trying to get the word out, he shifts to a non-word that is easier to pronounce. When people are losing their ability to use language they use non-words, They start with the stem of the real word, and then they improvise from there.

Re: Donald Trump in Hot Water
Tomorrow morning is going to be really interesting. Either he:
1) Comes up with the money. Unlikely.
2) Gets someone to cover a bond for the money. They've come up empty on that so far.
3) Someone covers for him, which leads to questions about how beholden he is to that individual/company/country.
4) Tish James starts seizing property. Hilarity ensues.
5) Somehow, he gets another delay.
6) Bankruptcy. That would stop everything, but would look bad for his presidential campaign.
I'm betting on either 4) or 5). Seizing property plays into his persecution complex. Just like his trials, it'll become a campaign event. But I wouldn't rule out a delay, because that's his ultimate legal strategy.

7) He'll overvalue an asset (the holding company that controls Truth Social) and leverage it.
Backing up the fraud with fraud has always been his game. If you can't get out of the game or off the planet before your marker comes due, you use more markers to cover it. It's the way grifters and desperadoes have operated for time immemorial.
In this age of where assets are abstract (digital and brand-related) rather than concrete and fixed, and regulation is deliberately weakened, we've only made the game easier for the frauds.
