Spring Training Cut: José Iglesias

Post by A Boy Named Seo » Fri Mar 08, 2024 11:06 am

DiComo's email newsletter revealed that José Iglesias cut this single "No Voy a Volver" (I'm not going to return) and shared it with Mark Vientos who was surprised at the song's quality.
“I was like, ‘Bro, you actually sound pretty good,’” Vientos said, laughing. “I was surprised. I didn’t know that.”
More from the email:
“It was time to do it,” Iglesias said of going public with his music career. “I love music. That’s what I do in my down time in my hotels, in my travels. I write songs. It’s pretty cool. It’s something fun that I really enjoy doing.

Since both have dark shades, fresh fades and clean shaves, Iglesias is the one with the gold ropes on his Sgt. Pepper-adjacent jacket. What's your take on "Candelita" and his side gig? CPF RnR HOF material?

First ballot RnR HoFer.

I know it's the style but I wish this wasn't so "produced." Its like the 80s all over again but instead of being drums it's everything -- the voices, the instrumentation, the bling, the drama.

Iglesias' buddy knows how to bring the despair and heartbreak
