What's in Store for Twenty-Four?: Pete Alonso

Post by Edgy MD » Fri Mar 15, 2024 12:48 am

I'm hearing stuff about trades. I'm hearing stuff about my fat ass. I'm hearing stuff about Dave Kingman.

I'm Pete Alonso, and if you've watched me this spring, the only thing you've heard is the sound of my bat crushing balls.

Dream up all the make-believe deals you want, but I'm a slugger with a will in a contract year. I like to hit homers, I love to lose my shirt, I answer the bell, I play hurt, and I put the F in LFGM.

That's a lot to bet against, but it's your money. So put up or shut up and tell me in the thread below how you're betting on my 2024.

On the last day of the season, he'll still be a Met. (Beyond that, I'm less certain.)

42 homers, 125 rbi.. 240.

Alonso had a ridiculously unlucky .205 BABIP last year. This year, it goes in the other direction: .277/.368/.564, leads the league in RBIs. And yes, somebody will pay in the offseason.

Gets hurt in May and is gone for at least six weeks. Has trouble
getting back on track and trade value is diminished. Has an im-
pressive September and signs with another team in the off-season
for less that Stevie Warbucks offers him.

Mets get bupkis as he walks for nothing.

I put this in another thread, but I'll say it here, as well:

Pete Alonso is in a walk year, and in the middle of his prime, and is one of the best pure power hitters in the game.

I predict 61 home runs.

Springsteen was there too.

I get Zach Bryan and Luke Bryan confused, but Zach I think is the hotter property. Bud Light is counting on him to help it bounce back from its transgender adventures

Zach and Pete could be brothers.
