I was able to fill in eight of the nine boxes almost immediately, but I had no idea who might have had 30 saves for the Blue Jays. After I gave up, I peeked, and I know that if I thought about it for a hundred years I never would have come up with any of the 12 pitchers who had done it.

Dave Stieb (Jays) and Robin Roberts (Phillies) both maxed out at 198 K seasons. Guess which two I chose?
I often usually outsmart myself trying to avoid the most obvious answers like, say, Clemens and Carlton

I was going to go with Robin Roberts, then briefly considered John Denny, but decided to play it safe with Carlton especially since my first guess, Javier Baez for Tigers/Cubs, pretty much ended my chance at getting a low score.

Was trying to come up with all nine players who were former Mets but could not come up with a former 3B/MVP. Missed a couple of obvious ones when I looked at the answers.

⚾️ Immaculate Grid 356 9/9:
Rarity: 49
IMMACULATE!
🟩🟩🟩
🟩🟩🟩
🟩🟩🟩

C/ASG - Paul LoDuca .9
C/MVP - Yogi 13

3B/MVP - A-Rod 18
3B/NONUS - Edgardo Alfonso 1
CF/ASG - Lee Mazzilli .5

Butch Hobson was never an All-Star, as I learned today.

He was my go-to for that box, but I decided to go even more obscure, so I went with Bake McBride (0.08%). I thought Matthews would have been on an All-Star team for sure.

That's hilarious. I was going to go with Bake but would bet $$ that Matthews was the better player.

Lots of oddball selections one could have made in today's grid

C/ASG - Carlos Delgado, Craig Biggio, Joe Torre, Dale Murphy ... all backstops early in their careers.
C/MVP - both Torre and Murphy work here too
3B/ASG - Gary Carter (from that wild game v Cincy)
3B/MVP - Don Mattingly (the resumption of the Pine Tar game when Billy Martin put out a goofy lineup to protest that the protest was upheld)
3B/non-US - Ron Gardenhire (Germany)
CF/non-US - Bobby Thomson (Scotland)
CF/ASG - Howard Johnson

And those were just the ones I knew ... which means most of you can probably come up with twice as many.

I got a 32 today. Eight of the nine were Mets, which I always like doing whenever I can.

C/All-Star: John Stearns 0.6%
C/MVP: Yogi Berra 14%
C/Not USA: Junior Ortiz 0.7%
3B/All-Star: Joel Youngblood 0.05%
3B/MVP: Pete Rose 2%
3B/Not USA: Jose Reyes 0.5%
CF/All-Star: Carlos Beltran 1%
CF/MVP: Willie Mays 12%
CF/Not USA: Tsuyoshi Shinjo 0.7%

Knowing Yogi Berra played third base in the final game in Philadelphia A's history paid off.
Hope for the best. Expect the Mets.

I pulled a 3 today. Nobody over 0.8

C/AS Jerty Grote 0.4
C/MVP Ernie Lombardi 0.8
C/OUS Ramon Castro 0.5
3B/AS Ken Boyer 0.6
3B/MVP Joe Morgan 0.2
3B/OUS Jose Vizcaino 0.2
CF/AS Enos Slaughter 0.04
CF/MVP Joe Medwick 0.1
CF/OUS Chili Davis 0.1

Helped that I was living in San Francisco in 1982 when Joe Morgan made a big deal about how he could play 3b to get Duane Kuiper’s bat in the Giants linneup and Chili Davis was the regular centerfielder. Joe Medwick and Enos Slaughter were lucky guesses.

NYM/LAD - Paul LoDuca 2

I only got eight of nine. I guessed Mickey Rivers as a 100-run Yankee.

I went with Jesse Orosco, Doug Flynn, and Lance Johnson in the Mets row.

Don Zimmer 0.3 -- Rey Ordonez 10 -- Tommie Agee 2
Sal Maglie 0.1 -- Terry Pendleton 1 -- Ken Boyer 0.2

Rarity = 54, more than 2/3 of it on Pujols cuz I couldn't think of anyone else.

LAD/NYY - Todd Zeile (0.2%)
NYY/GG - Teixeira (5%)
NYY/100R+ - Rizzuto (2%)
NYM/LA - Tommy Davis (0.4%)
NYM/GG - Doug Flynn (1%)
NYM/100R+ - Bernard Gilkey (1%)
StL/LAD = Albert Pujols (37%)
StL/GG - Ken Boyer (1%)
StL/100R+ - Willie McGee (6%)

I try to do these things too fast sometimes (often during lunch) so if I thought it out better I'd have
saved Zeile for LAD/StL and had more choices for NYY/LAD. Maybe that would have come out as a
wash in the end but it sucked being backed into a corner with little time and one guess remaining.

38 score for me.

For 1 Team/OF I went with yesterday's starting RF for the Brewers Jackson Chourio just to see if they were
quick enough on updating their database. They are.

Cavan Bingo is a good pick. I went with papa Craig for 2,000+/OF
Using both would have been cool.
