I think I was most disappointed by them not scoring after the Alonso leadoff double in the second. This isn't a team that will profit by playing for big innings and frittering away little ones.
Four more scoreless innings by the bullpen, coming from two of the more unexpected sources. Good on them for that.

The too little too late 9th inning rally has been a hallmark of this team for the last couple of years, or so it feels to my old and grumpy brain.

Maybe a move to the bullpen is what Houser needed. His ERA fell more than half a point with his first relief appearance.
