He would have walked Marte but Marte wouldn't let him.

I wish I could say that there's a wee bit of tension here but there is none.

But, hey, the Nationals also lost today so we haven't yet totally lost sight of third place!

Yeah, kind of an odd call.
23 pitches last night for Iglesias and now 25 more today, both to protect multi-run leads.

I tore an intercostal muscle (muscles between the ribs) once. When I initially noticed it, I thought I had cracked or broken a rib. Made it painful to cough or sneeze. Also very sensitive to touch, so I had to sleep in a recliner for a few weeks, because I couldn't lay on my side or stomach. I imagine it baseball activities pretty uncomfortable. Hopefully, Nimmo's injury is minor and won't keep him out for long.

On paper, this team looked pretty good. On the actual field, they look pretty bad.

Especially with the many hideous uniforms they'll probably wear half the time going forward. Its one big clown show, not to mention that the crapfest Mets are probably like one two game win streak from being in the money.

I'm blaming Alonso for the disgusting Piazza era black throwbacks. What a rube. He liked them so Cohen made "em happen.

Today, those thick black city connect pinstripes reminded me of jail bars. Maybe they symbolize ,--- wait --- I mean represent--- the crime in NYC.

They might as well wear Mercury Met throwbacks every Wednesday. Or are those throwforwards ?

Mets haven't won a game wearing the City Connect

They're winless in that nasty new black top also. Probably not a correlation, though.

I don't think they're won a game in any uniform. But not to worry because at that rate, I think they can clinch a playoff spot by Thursday.

From a search (Medical News Today):
Intercostal muscle strain is an injury affecting the muscles between two or more ribs. Symptoms can include sharp, direct pain, stiffness, and mobility difficulties. The intercostal muscles have different layers that attach to the ribs to help build the chest wall and assist in breathing.
Depending on the severity of your intercostal muscle strain, your healthcare provider may prescribe different treatment options to help manage your symptoms. Muscle relaxants are a class of medication that can be prescribed to decrease pain and intercostal muscle spasm by blocking nerve pathways to decrease muscle contraction.
