Toronto's Auston (yes, that's how he spells it) Matthews justmissed becoming the first 70 G scorer in 31 years finishing with 69 though
it wasn't for a lack of effort. He had 12 shots on goal in his final regular season game including one that clanked off the crossbar.

One day after Connor McDavid became the 4th player to record 100 assists in a season, Tampa's Nikita Kucherov notches one
on the final day of his regular season to become the 5th

One original Winnipeg Jets, later turned Phoenix Coyotes, are now headed to Salt Lake City for next season.
Early favorites for nicknames include Blizzard and Yeti

Utah was in line for an expansion team so there's probably been some forethought, but they better come up with a name and logo pretty quick to be ready for next season. Typically teams today take years to develop an identity and look, and then there's the physical work of manufacturing them. The Jets started in 2021 to do an alt throwback (now their new design) but couldn't get it ready for the field until 2023.

Kind of a shame TOR & BOS had to meet in the 1st round.
Bruins want to wipe away the shame of last year's egg-laying 1st round exit following their historic regular season record.
Maple Leafs, and their star Auston Mathews, need to show they're not going to just putter out in the playoffs once again.
One of the two iconic Canadian franchises, Toronto now has nearly six decades of regular season and/or playoff failures.

It's going to be a wicked bad night for one of those two, eh?

Gump Worsley, NHL goaltender (1952–1974), and one of the last of his tribe to go helmetless and maskless:

Rangers, the best team in the regular season this year, eliminated in the third round of the playoffs.

I watched Gump many times between the pipes at the old MSG on 49th street.
With a GO card you could get a ticket for 50 cents. They were on the upper level and because of the overhang you had to stand to see the third of the ice closer than the nearest faceoff circle.

Funny about the comment that he was maskless because also on that team was defenseman Harry Howell. He was famous because at one time he was the only NHL player with all his own teeth.

Sounds exciting, I'll give it one year before it folds though
