That was great!

The cameras shouldn’t have given him away; it might have worked.
I remember laughing with Dad about it

It might well have worked, but Bobby loved the camera too much

Pet peeve: When people say Bobby returned to the dugout "disguised as Groucho Marx". That's pretty far from the truth.

The magic word was "yerouttahere".

I think getting on camera was the point! He could have easily stayed in the tunnel and managed like the rest of tossed ups do!

I kind of remember too that he did it to diffuse a tense situation.

I was at this game, which was wacky on its "what shows up in the box score" merit, and had no idea about the disguise. Learning about it via highlights was the cherry on top of an exhilarating win.
Hope for the best. Expect the Mets.

Same week his coaches were fired and he made the famous "55 games" proclamation

Image makes me think of the kcmetsdotcom years, before we were
'ordered' to cease and desist by The New York Metropolitan Baseball
Club, Inc. Amazing how much the internet has changed and how just
about every fan who so choses can have a baseball footprint without
get hassled by front office lawyers.

Makes me think of celebrated MOFo poster Bobby in Disguise.
