This is not good.
We need to get this to extra innings but once we get there and the Clown Car rules are in effect our run scoring chances go down!

After looking terrible all night!!

And we're already 2.4 runs scored above our extra inning average.

As J.D. slams a three-run homer over the fence, I was going to say that I've gotten the impression that visiting teams do a better job breaking the game open in the era of the free runner. Like the rules force the home teams to play with their backs to the wall.

I don't know if that's true, and obviously home teams have a lot more trouble "breaking the game open" when one run can end things, but hey! We broke the game open!

Tyrone Taylor has had a week's worth of drama in the last two half innings.

And (until tonight anyway) we've sucked both home and away for whatever that's worth.

These four runs are already the most we've scored in any free runner inning this year.
Three was our previous high. Twice we've given up five.

I'm starting to think we've got a decent chance of winning this one.

What a stupid fucking move by Mendoza to let the tying run come up before making the switch.

Do the Nats dare try a double steal?
Probably not.
