Jefferson Escorcha!

Post by Johnny Lunchbucket » Sun Dec 29, 2019 1:02 pm

First there was Jefferson ✈️...

And then, Jefferson 🚀 ...

And finally, there is Jefferson 🔥 ...

Don't you need somebody to love? Do you believe in Miracles, baby?

Then meet Jefferson Escorcha!, my 19-year-old lefty adoptee from Venezuela.

Jefferson scorched the Appalachian League last season, going 7-1 with a 2.38 ERA in 15 releif appearances, punching out batters like Hell's Angels at Altamont. This after building a city on the broken bats of DSL hitters for 2 seasons.

He's been sureallistically pillowing up near the end of some top prospect lists out there, noting his ability to induce weak-ass contact behind a sizzling curve that leaves hitters finding their way back to the bench.

Yeah, he's looking sweeter than Marty Balin's ass, this guy. Good pick.

Best part is that the 2.38 ERA is actually the highest of his career. As a 17-year-old with the DSL Mets 2, he notched a 1.86 ERA in 29 innings. He returned to DSL2 as an 18-year-old, improving to a 1.69 figure in 32 innings.

They bumped him up to at the end of the season to start at DSL1 (the same division but a higher standard of play), and he dropped to 1.42 in 25 1/3 innings.

He gets to skip the Gulf Coast League and it doesn't matter because you see above how he killed it in the Appy League. His WHIPs are so low, I won't publish them, because they'd freak you out as if logic and proportion have fallen slowly dead.

Or... somebody that Brodie will trade for an overpaid 39-year-old infielder.

I'm going to come out and say it: That first post is the best in the history of the Adopt-A-Prospect Forum.
