Well, we'll always have that one inning in Yankee Stadium, won't we?
Even duct tape can't fix stupid. But it can sure muffle the sound.

Out before the theoretical year 2 of the contract can vest, I guess.

For a 37-year-old slowballer getting a couple of saves was pretty impressive

So that would leave Ottavino as the only one who has been in the bullpen all year.

With a sweet third of the season to go.

A bullpen built to be fungible has almost totally been funged.

This is Diekman's 13th season in MLB.
If he hooks on with another team this season it will make this the 6th of those 13 years where he changed teams mid-season.
Three of the seven years he spent with only one team were the first three of his career (w/Philly) and one was the short 2020 season.
So he's essentially packed up and moved mid-season in six of the last nine years.

Not that I'm going to hold a telethon for him or anything, but baseball can be a tough business sometimes.

His signature moment, getting the save against the Yankees at YSII, striking out Judge as the winning run, with the tying run on, took place only six days ago.

Tough bidness indeed. The dude lit up the Empire State Building and lost his job within a week.
