That's what I do too. I rode HORSE until it finally came up, and since then, I've used SHORE every time, except once when I accidentally hit Submit on the word SHOTE. I was glad that that wasn't the day that the word was SHORE!

Guesses 2-4 were all ‘bad’ guesses in that they had letters either knowingly missing or knowingly in the wrong places. I was just too stupid and coffee-lacking to realize it until after I typed. each. One. Ugh!
