This game seems like it should have more than a two run cushion.
Adding to it real soon would be a peach of an idea.

Real soon is upon us with the bezes bloated, no outs, and a wild pitcher.

And there's one and the line moves up.

I thought Lindor's hit was down all the way; a better read on it by Gamel would have been two runs ... and now it is anyway.

I was less sure on that send [Nimmo's Sac Fly] but the throw was weak so the Mets probably knew that while I didn't.

Bleday's throw could best be described as "disengaged."

What do you say to four and counting for an idea?Frayed Knot wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2024 8:56 pm This game seems like it should have more than a two run cushion.

I'm not sure the technology exists to determine with certainty whether Bader was safe or out. That one had to be whatever the call on the field was.

I like this strategy of getting hits with runners in scoring position. The Mets should stick with it going forward.

Carlos Mendoza loaded his lineup with as many lefthanded hitters as he could get in there, and Nimmo, McNeil, and Gamel are the three Mets not in the hit column tonight.

With all due respect to Mike Cam, I don't think the problem with the modern in-stadium experience is a dearth of scoreboard driven cheering encouragement.

I didn't know that Peter Finch was "his guy."

That was cool when they did that Network thing. There's no reason they couldn't on the gigantic CF screen

I was a little nervous when Ottavino came in, but I'm happy with the result.

Catching up on some games. A quality rout, glad I watched it. Peterson has done very well this year, but I'm not sure I want the Mets to parley this run of effectiveness into a longer-term deal. He's been an every-other-year guy and this is his "good" year. Don't be fooled, Mets!
