His slider is unfair the way 2022 Díaz' slider was unfair.

Martinez, Taylor, Alonso in the ninth.
Martinez goes down on strikes before I get that typed.

Two out, tying run on first. We need DJ Stewart here.

This was a disaster from the moment "Hawk Tuah" girl threw out the first pitch

At the end. This team is just not good enough. Wish they had collapsed earlier so we could have sold. Farm system is still pretty thin.

Also. I’m pretty sure the Mets never win the day camp game. Year after year. Send the kids home miserable while Yankee fans laugh.

They're still 3 games over .500... so there's that.
Remember when no one thought they would sniff .500 this season?
Sweep the Fishsticks, right the ship NOW!!!

Look for Smarte and Sean Reid-Holymoley back this weekend and watch the wins start piling up.

Just finished watching via delay and even with FF'ing through the commercials the game took over 3 hours.
Even if they came back to win that one they should have been forced to give it back. They didn't deserve it.

I was at the Day Camp game where they beat the Nats 7-0 this year. So it does happen.
But yeah, they mis-timed their collapse this year.
Even duct tape can't fix stupid. But it can sure muffle the sound.

A final pitching autopsy on this game
- 425 pitches thrown: 213 total/134 strikes by Oakland, 212/110 by NY
- each of the five NYM relievers was credited with one inning pitched and every one of them needed at least 20 pitches [27, 24, 25, 24, 20]
- 32 combined swing-and-misses [7.5%] or about one pitch in 14. There was a time when that was considered normal but not today.
Gary kept talking about the number of pitches fouled off

Catching up on some games.
Hey, it was fun at first. But it dragged and dragged.
Too many walks by the pitching. The pitching will be why the team doesn't make the playoffs this year, should they not make the playoffs.
The Mets walked more batters this game than Carlos Silva did in all of 2005, when he tossed 188 1/3 innings (he allowed 9 walks that year).
Seth Brown of the A's looks like Lucas Duda.
Carlos Mendoza always looks like he just smelled something bad.
