2025 Schedule
2025 Schedule
Released today
https://sny.tv/articles/mets-2025-mlb-r ... n-schedule
A whole lot of oddities here:
-Three one-series road trips (Washington in April, Pittsburgh in June, Milwaukee in July)
-One one-series homestand (Arizona)
-Five semi-repeaters.
-Opening day is in Houston on a Thursday, but with a day off the Friday. (Spoiler alert: there’s no chance of a rainout in Houston).
There are also April weekday night games in Minneapolis.
In more positive news:
-A Friday home opener
-The three west coast road trips are well spaced out and are only two-city trips each - and there is only one three-city road trip on the entire schedule.
-Obviously it’s way too early to know what teams will do in 2025 but a preliminary look at the September 2025 schedule suggests it might not be too difficult.

Re: 2025 Schedule
I'm not trying to sound obnoxious here. This is a very sincere post.
Who gives a flying fuck? Who the fuck cares whether the Mets play a few games there instead of a few games here at that time of the day instead of at this time of day? Who gives a fuck whether it's a one city road trip or a four city road trip? Either way, the Mets have to take a plane to the next city, whether they're flying to another road city or whether they're flying back home. Why am I supposed to give a fuck about this? I'll watch the next Mets game just the same whether it's from Citi Field or from Anaheim or from London. You're not gonna get a neat and symmetrical schedule anymore. Not when every team now has to play a home and away against every other team. The Mets can't play division rivals enough because it's now imperative that the Mets play a home and away against the Twins and White Sox. Every fucking year.

Re: 2025 Schedule
They only play one series each year against American League teams, either home or away but not both. (With the exception of the Yankees.)

I’m excited they get three in Detroit in early September!

I wish there was a feature that if you had a post ignored, it wouldn’t show up in quoted text.

Me too. Still hurting because I totally annihilated your post about how Gary Carter's Mets number should be retired just because he's in Cooperstown? I guess you take it personally that I couldn't give a flying fuck in July of 2024 about what the Mets 2025 schedule is gonna be like. This is all about you, I suppose.

Re: 2025 Schedule
Except for a short jaunt to Boston, they're 'home' from May 9th through June 1st.
Every single Atlanta game is between June 17th and August 24th.

Re: 2025 Schedule
I like that the schedule is out! I am fortunate enough to be able to see the Mets in different parks once or twice a year and the schedule being out gives me time to start planning! The June series against the Rockies or the July series against Kansas City are possibilities for 2025.

Re: 2025 Schedule
It's really strange to react with such hostility to a simple post about next year's schedule.
I could spend hours each day if I decided to push back against every thread that I wasn't interested in. Instead I decided to go with the radical option of simply not responding.

The only effective way to deal with trolls is to limit one’s response to reminding others not to engage with trolls.

I'm coming around to your view. Its starting to sink in just how thin skinned people are . You can't disagree with anyone. That'll make for a terrific board and a wonderful promotion of differing viewpoints and exchange of ideas.Benjamin Grimm wrote: ↑Fri Jul 19, 2024 9:09 am It's really strange to react with such hostility to a simple post about next year's schedule.

And the thing of it is that I didn't even disagree with anyone. Would banana lovers go all apeshit if I posted that I don't like bananas?

Re: 2025 Schedule
What if someone posted "Bananas are tasty" and you responded with "Who the fuck cares about bananas! Why are you wasting my time talking about bananas! What the fuck does that have to do with what's going on today!"
Don't you see that that's a bit extreme? And would feel like an attack?

something. The gist was I don't get the hostility. I don't know Gw
well but jeebus I've known him for like forever in internet years, sat
with him through baseball games, tail-gaited with him and he's the
kindest fucking person anyone could wanna know. He posts schedule
info. Not a reason for a who-gives-a-fuck meltdown!
It doesn't matter. Nothing matters...
It's the end of the world as we know it
And I (don't particularly) feel fine

Re: 2025 Schedule
What if the roles were sort of reversed? What if instead, he started this thread by linking to next year's Mets schedule, informing everybody here that the new schedule was just released and then commenting that he couldn't give a flying fuck about next year's schedule? That the Mets are scheduled to play 162 games in 2025 just like they're scheduled to play 162 games every year -- against all of the same teams that they play this year, more or less the same number of times that they'll play those same teams this year? And then adding that what's the big deal if the Mets travel to San Fran in August next year even though they traveled to San Fran in June, this year?Benjamin Grimm wrote: ↑Fri Jul 19, 2024 1:17 pm What if someone posted "Bananas are tasty" and you responded with "Who the fuck cares about bananas! Don't you see that that's a bit extreme? And would feel like an attack?
And then I responded by writing that I'm very much into schedules and care very much about when the Mets play their opponents.
Then what? Do you think that this thread would evolve into a clusterfuck and he'd insult me personally? Or is this hypothetical version of posts more acceptable? Under this hypothetical sequence of posts, would FK chime in and post "Fail" at me? Would FK post "Fail" at the thread-starter?

I did.
Youse only let it go though, because youse didn't have a good enough answer.
I let the kunt klub go, too. But then I got skullfucked.
I guess it's OK to express total disinterest for next year's schedule so long as I'm not the one expressing that disinterest.
