I was thinking that Trump doesn't listen to anyone even God, but I think Ben nailed it.batmagadanleadoff wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2024 12:22 pmThis is so confusing. If God has a message for the orange madman, why is he sending it through this blonde woman? Why can't he send it directly to the madman? And how does the blonde woman even know that the madman isn't getting God's messages? Isn't God all powerful and all mighty? If he can build the universe and the sun and the moon, can't he get a simple message to the madman?
Maybe someone here on this forum who is better versed in this God stuff than I am can explain it to me how can it be that the madman isn't getting God's messages. And without anyof that "God works in mysterious ways" crap. I want an answer.

I love how she's in favor of the fourth amendment, which among other things is the right to privacy, as well as the right to not have the government search and seize that gun she's apparently carrying in one of her flab folds.
Even duct tape can't fix stupid. But it can sure muffle the sound.

Hell just froze over.
Dick Cheney will be voting for Kamala Harris.
I wonder if that announcement will help her or hurt her.

I don't know how big an impact it will have, but it certainly won't hurt her.

I think it means one additional vote in Wyoming. Beyond that, who knows?
Re: 2024 Presidential Election - Take II
Hopefully, this will make it easier for Republicans who don't like DJT to vote for a Democrat. The more the merrier.

I'm certainly no fan of Chaney, but it is great to see prominent Republicans come out

I found it interesting that you split Nebraska but not Maine, and thought it unlikely that Vice President Harris would win Maine's Second Congressional District, but look at the comeback she has pulled off in the polling!

That map is super helpful.
Basically, if Harris holds Michigan and Wisconsin, she can win by taking either Pennsylvania or Georgia.
Trump, on the other hand, has to take Pennsylvania.
If Trump loses Pennsylvania, Trump has to win Wisconsin or Michigan.

I have a feeling that Harris has a decent shot at Georgia and Arizona, based on how they've gone in recent elections, but I didn't want to make my map overly optimistic.
The way I have it, she can lose Nevada and that district in Maine and still squeak by with 270 electoral votes.

The madman HAS to win Georgia, right? I mean, he can't win the election without Georgia, right?Benjamin Grimm wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2024 2:34 pm I have a feeling that Harris has a decent shot at Georgia and Arizona, based on how they've gone in recent elections, but I didn't want to make my map overly optimistic.

I suppose it depends on how many votes he can find.

If Harris has to squeak by with 270 electoral votes to win, she ain't winning. They'll steal it from her. Between all of the mayhem and ratfucking that is guaranteed to happen if the election is called for Harris and the corrupt SCOTUS probably having the final say, there's no way Harris will win with 270. Dems are not allowed to win a squeaky nailbiter.
And no matter what happens, if the election is called in favor of Harris, this election will turn out to be the most controversial, largest clusterfuck and probably most violent of an election aftermath in the history of this country. It will make January 6th look like a peaceful transfer of power.
Re: 2024 Presidential Election - Take II
I don't think anything will be stolen from her. Her opponents can suppress turnout, but if she wins, she wins.

Between Bush v. Gore and the Trump immunity case, I'm not as sure as you are.
Re: 2024 Presidential Election - Take II
I hear you, but there is an army of lawyers that have been dedicated to this, and unlike 2020, Vice President Harris' party is in possession of The White House.
By Inauguration Day, maybe they hold both chambers of Congress as well.

But the votes will be certified in Congress. Usually the VP does this (remember Mike Pence?) but since the vP is running, I believe the task will fall to the Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, a virulent and vile MAGA supporter. All bets are off about whether he will honestly accept the counts.
The slime will sink to the bottom.
I hope the democrats will have a majority .

Congressional certification is the very least of my worries. The mayhem will happen at the state level with SCOTUS looming ominously in the background.

Of course I remember Mike Pence.
And no, a sitting VP is tasked with overseeing the certification of a presidential election even if he or she is a candidate. Then-Vice President Bush declared himself president following the 1988 election. Vice President Gore declared George W. Bush president following the 2020 election, and many others (Dan Quayle, Walter Mondale ...) oversaw the certification of elections in which they were candidates for vice president.
