in fairness, it is objectively true that the quickest way to reduce the price of a service is to deregulate it and allow more unskilled unqualified people to perform those tasks which they lack the training and expertise to accomplish.

want cheaper childcare, let anyone run a daycare, from wherever they want.
want cheaper healthcare, let anyone be a doctor, a surgeon, or a pharmacist.
want cheaper bridges, let anyone build 'em.
want cheaper airfare, let anyone fly the plane.

because fuck the poor. they don't actually deserve quality daycare, healthcare, bridges, or pilots. anyways, it's their own damned fault for being poor, which is a moral failing for which speedy flaming death is the only cure. and what the hell is the use of helping the poor - or the sick, or the misfortunate, or the unlucky? if god wanted them to be rich he'd've made them rich. and who are we to question god's plan, right?

as long as the rich can have enough money to care for their children and their health, to drive over the sturdiest bridges, and to have highly qualified pilots in their gulfstreams, what the fuck else matters? god warns about it, in fact. if you help the meek, they'll take over the earth. and we have to put a stop to that shit. and if letting any schlub looking to turn a quick buck over the lives and wellbeing of a few children of the poor then that's just what we've gotta do.

yes, helping people have access to education is critically important. one of the biggest blockers is, of course, the cost of education. oops.

oh, and early childcare is part and parcel to early childhood education. so... kindof a loop until you choose one of two paths. a) deregulate and lower the quality. b) subsidize - which also allows you to increase the quality!

so, yes, jd. it is difficult for some people to get themselves an education. the solution to not to wave a hand and say that you no longer need that same education, but to help people pay for that education, be that through loans or grants, essentially.

the discourse also belies the obvious obviousness of that jd vance has no idea what daycare involves other than, i guess, being in the same space as a young child and ideally preventing it's death. for which, yes, maybe minimal training is required. but for the enrichment of that child, along with others, and fostering the proper developmental growth of that child while it's in your care - yeah, that could take some learning and the application thereof.
