I'm so happy I could pee.

Sorry if that dumbs down the iGT.

Pretty amazing to think we just took three of four from the Phillies without Lindor.

Phillies somehow stealing three bases in a single inning and coming up with bupkis.

Nimmo being interviewed and his voice sounds like RFK, Jr.'s.

It's been a while since I did two innings of pacing at the end of a Mets game.
Tonight I did.

I have not felt this excited and optimistic since the Mets clinched the NLCS in 2015, and we're not even done with the regular season yet.

What a job by Diaz.

Great win. Beating Wheeler is no small feat.

Wow.

I’m glad we won this game the way we’ve won all season. Great starting pitching and a dominant bullpen.

Sarcasm level is right at the 50 mark here, isn't it?

I was pretty damn tired today right around 5 - 6 o'clock and wondered if I was going to have trouble staying awake until 10
Now I'm wondering if I'm going to be able to fall asleep by midnight.

Same.

Before I forget. What are the chances that ball hits the bag then bounces straight in front of it.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen that.

But we'll see....
I was fine with it here. Edwin against the top of the Philly order makes sense. It was the recent use of Diaz with 4+ run leads that was excessive

Wheeler versus Megill. With Megill looking shaky in the first. How on earth did they win this game.

A Citi Field all-timer. A few thoughts offered here.
Hope for the best. Expect the Mets.

Greg makes a great point. Vientos was definitely late covering the bag on that play in the 9th. If he's there in time, he can block that ball before hit hits the bag.

This was excellent. As a far less frequent closing day attendee (this might be my first time since 2013 when Piazza was inducted) I think I may be missing out — that said, the discussion of it being a “primetime” moment really resonated. I look forward to hopefully reading again about this game in a definitive FAFIF recap of the greatest games at Citi Field…this decade (ever?).

SNY/GKR would have examined if, how, and why Vientos was late. Whether it was the set-up and he just had too far to go or whether he simply didn't break when he should have. But it wasn't SNY/GKR so we got shit and never saw another angle except for the close-up showing that the ball hit the bag. Why it did and if it could have been prevented didn't seem to be on their agenda. They likely had other fish to fry.
